Alright, so you've just started up Super Mario Odyssey and you're probably wondering how to get your hands on one of those shiny Power Moons. Don't worry, it's super straightforward and happens right at the beginning of the game, after that whole kerfuffle with Bowser and Peach on his airship. You'll see Mario's hat get all messed up, but then this weird little guy shows up and snags a piece of it. That's your cue to get moving!

Basically, after Bowser makes off with Peach and your hat gets destroyed, a mysterious creature appears. This little fella is actually Cappy, and he's going to become your best pal on this adventure. He'll help you out by becoming your hat, letting you do all sorts of cool stuff. Your first Power Moon is basically handed to you as part of this introduction to Cappy and his abilities.
