BOSS BATTLE: The Albatross

Enjoy the cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) (a brief, non-interactive scene). General Killt reveals the Albatross is complete, but Master-D kills Killt and orders the Albatross to attack. The Albatross moves back and forth, firing flame cannons. Move with the machine and avoid the flames. The flame cannons can be used as temporary platforms, similar to bulbs.

The weak point of the Albatross is its orange eye in the upper right corner.

To defeat the Albatross:

  1. Go to the two cannons in the lower right corner.
  2. When the machine moves towards you, and no flame is present at these cannons or the cannon near the eye, climb onto the leftmost of the two lower right cannons.
  3. Quickly shoot your arm upwards to grab the top of the machine.
  4. Hang on and shoot the eye. Be aware the machine's movement can cause it to slide off-screen, pushing you down. The cannon behind you may also blast you with flame if you linger too long.
  5. Pay attention to the Albatross's movements to avoid damage on the floor.
  6. If you have a Rocket Launcher, the boss will be defeated after approximately two sprays.
  7. If you cannot connect your arm correctly to the roof in front of the eye, release the arm and try again.

FINAL SCENE A: Hal and Master-D's chopper

Master-D attempts to flee in his chopper. Continue right and swing over the spike pit. You will encounter Hal, who gives you the Special Bazooka (which resembles a Rocket Launcher) and instructions to defeat Master-D. Do not skip Hal.

After obtaining the Bazooka:

  1. Move right until you reach a box.
  2. Swing right from the box and fall down.
  3. Shoot the cockpit (the windows at the top) with your Bazooka in perfect timing while falling. Missing will result in crashing and dying from the chopper's shots.
  4. If you get a game over and use a continue, you will restart at this point.

Destroying the chopper results in Master-D's death.

FINAL SCENE B: Escaping the HQ

The base will explode, requiring you to escape quickly. This scene involves climbing platforms against a 60-second timer.

  1. Move towards the platforms. A message will appear stating the base will explode in 60 seconds.
  2. Ascend the platforms. When presented with two columns of platforms, choose the left one.
  3. Proceed straight up along the left wall.
  4. You will encounter a Bionic Arm Cyborg. It is advisable to escape rather than fight due to the time limit and limited space.
  5. To escape: Sneak to the cyborg's left, move to the left wall, climb the platform above, move to the right edge of that platform, and shoot your arm straight right into the platform on the other side to swing over.
  6. Once across, climb straight up to reach the surface.

Congratulations on completing Bionic Commando!

AREA 13: Neutral Zone 1

Area status: Neutral area

Item(s) found: Flare Bombs, Bullets

This is your first neutral area. While not required for game completion, it is recommended for beginners to obtain Flare Bombs and bullets and to experience a safe neutral area.

Tips
  • When facing the electric currents, go forward as much as possible, duck under the roof current, and then run away from the floor current.
  • When crossing the spike pit with swinging passages, use short, secure swings to avoid falling onto the spikes.
  • If you have a Rocket Launcher, the Albatross boss can be defeated with approximately two sprays.
  • If your arm connection to the Albatross's roof fails, release and try again.
  • When escaping the exploding base, prioritize evasion of the Bionic Arm Cyborg over fighting it.
  • The Special Bazooka is essential for defeating Master-D's chopper.
