Talk to Maeve Salini in Ryujin Tower to inquire about Ularu Chen.

Wait for Ularu Chen to finish her meeting and speak with her.

Travel to Cydonia on Mars in the Sol System.

Meet Simon Ryczek in Cydonia. You can pay 10,000 Credits or negotiate down to 8,000 Credits for information, or accept a side job to retrieve a weapon.

If you accepted the side job, travel to Saturn's Orbit to find the ship 'Datura'.

Communicate with Malai Liskova on the Datura. You can negotiate to retrieve the weapon peacefully or resort to combat.

Retrieve Malai's gun (Ember) for Simon. This may involve another persuasion check or combat.

Return to Simon in Cydonia with the gun. He will give you information and let you keep Ember.

Read Stanley McMillan's File and listen to the audio file from Simon.

Retrieve the Project Dominion Files from Stanley's computer. You may need to Digipick the computer.

Return to Ularu at Ryujin Tower with the Project Dominion Files.

Follow Ularu to Masako Imada's office and speak with her to complete the quest. This unlocks the 'Background Checks' quest.

Tips

Be aware that some companions may dislike accepting the assassination contract if you choose that route. Andreja is an exception and remains neutral or supportive.
If you choose to negotiate for Ember, you can use Persuasion checks. Alternatively, you can fight Malai Liskova to get the weapon immediately.
