Guide to defeating Eidolon in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chornobyl - Enhanced Edition. Learn strategies, weapon usage, and team management for the Living Legend mission.
Walkthrough
- 1Ensure you have at least 20kg inventory space for the No.62 Gauss Rifle and its ammo. It's recommended to have grenades.
- 2Rest until 5 AM, ensuring an emission has recently passed.
- 3Talk to Strelok to confirm you are ready for the mission. He and two other companions cannot be dismissed until the mission is complete.
- 4Go downstairs and talk to Rogue to receive the No.62 Gauss Rifle and special batteries (ammo).
- 5Talk to Stitch and recruit him to the team. Set all companions to DON'T LOOT to prevent them from taking the No.62.
- 6Move to the marked point in Outskirts and eliminate the FIVE MONOLITH SOLDIERS in an ambush. Use companion commands to keep your team focused and following you.
- 7Travel to Pripyat, specifically the Palace Of Culture, to find Eidolon. The yellow marker indicates the center, not Eidolon's exact location.
- 8Engage Eidolon's heavily armed escorts first with standard weapons.
- 9Switch to the No.62 Gauss Rifle and focus fire on Eidolon, aiming for headshots for maximum damage.
- 10Kill Eidolon to complete this part of the quest.
- 11Loot Eidolon's body to obtain the Volat Emerald artifact, a free Veles detector, and batteries.
- 12Talk to Strelok to learn his plans to head to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and receive money, an empty AAM, and a DECODER.
Tips
- The No.62 Gauss Rifle is powerful but cannot be upgraded and requires payment for repairs.
- While the No.62 is recommended, Eidolon can be defeated with other weapons.
- If you don't want to deal with the team-based section immediately, delay talking to Strelok.
- Companion deaths will fail the mission. Ensure they don't get caught on other fights by using companion commands.
- The red indicator arrow on the minimap may be unreliable; refer to the PDA map for objectives in different sectors.
- Avoid using the No.62 on Eidolon's escorts to conserve ammo. If you run out, you can retreat to find more batteries.
- The three companions can defeat Eidolon on their own.
- Eidolon can be tricked into killing himself with his own grenades by staying close to him when he throws them.
- If Eidolon is disabled and injured, finish him off rather than attempting to talk to him, as he will resume attacking.
- The Volat Emerald artifact reduces radiation, improves anomaly navigation, but weakens combat ability.
