General tips for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky - Enhanced Edition, including mission rewards, weight limits, and item management.

Tips
  • For attack and defending missions, you only need to participate to complete them; killing at least one enemy is required to gain the reward, not necessarily all of them.
  • If any accompanying stalkers (NPCs) die during a mission, you will fail it. Keep them alive until you receive your reward.
  • Use your knife to break open small metal crates and wooden boxes, as they often contain useful items like medicines and ammunition.
  • You can store items in some boxes, typically found around camps and bases.
  • Exceeding the 50 KG maximum weight limit will cause you to expend stamina just by walking. Sell or store excess items to stay at or below this limit.
  • If you pick up more than your maximum weight plus 10 KG (60 KG total), you will be unable to move until you drop items.
  • Be aware that certain upgrades for weapons and armor will prevent you from purchasing others. Save your game before buying upgrades to revert if you make a mistake.
  • Repair weapons regularly to prevent them from jamming.
  • Repair armor to maintain its effectiveness.
  • The silenced pistol is effective for stealthy infiltration of enemy camps and for stealthy kills; a single headshot (a shot to the head) can eliminate most enemies.
  • It is not possible to completely remove factions from the game.
  • Purchase weapon and armor upgrades between missions when you can afford them.
  • Water areas are generally more radioactive than land; try to avoid them if possible.
  • Always unload weapons before selling them to keep the ammunition.
  • Holding the "F" key highlights all pick-up-able items within a short radius and automatically picks them up if you walk close enough.
  • Avoid wasting money on weapons and ammunition, as you will find enough from fallen friends and enemies. Some sniper rifle ammunition may need to be purchased, as most enemies use 5.39 or 5.45 ammunition.
  • Some storage boxes contain items when first discovered. These boxes usually respawn (be brought back to life at a checkpoint after death) more items after one in-game day passes.
