Learn how to defeat Order Members in Silent Hill: Homecoming. Discover their weaknesses, attack patterns, and effective strategies with melee and ranged weapons.

Alright, let's talk about the Order Members you'll run into in Silent Hill: Homecoming. These guys are basically human cultists wearing mining gear to hide their faces. They're not just cannon fodder, though – they can be just as dangerous as Alex, especially since they use the same moves you do with their weapons!

They'll come at you with either a steel pipe or an assault rifle, so you'll need to be ready for both close-quarters brawls and ranged encounters.

Weaknesses and Strategies

When they're not right on top of you, Order Members are pretty vulnerable to gunfire. Your best bet is to aim for the head to maximize your damage. A shotgun blast will pretty much take one down, and the assault rifle and handgun are also very effective.

If you prefer getting up close and personal, the Ceremonial Dagger is your best friend here. Its speed is incredible. Try this combo: A, A, A, X. You can usually follow it up with another combo because the dagger is so quick.

The Steel Pipe/Crowbar can also work. A good combo to try is A, A, X. They often dodge the first swing, but the second and third hits usually connect. For a pipe-wielding Order Member, the A, A, A, charge X combo is super effective. They tend to stand still while you're charging that X attack, and when it hits, it'll knock them down. When they're on the ground, just run up and keep hitting them with charged X stabs.

Be aware that Order Members with pipes or axes can dodge your attacks quite a bit. However, they have a harder time dodging the knife. Even if they do dodge a pipe or axe swing, you can often still hit them right after they dodge if you're in the middle of a combo.

The ones with assault rifles are particularly nasty, mainly because of their melee gun attacks. If they get close, these can interrupt any attack you're trying to pull off. Against these guys, stick to the A, A, A, X combo with the dagger when you're in close, and definitely don't charge your attacks.

Enemy Attacks

Pipe Combo: They'll swing left, then right, and finish with an overhead smash. It's the same combo Alex can do with his pipe or crowbar. Sometimes, they'll end the combo early.

  • Dodge Timing: As soon as you see them hold the pipe to their side, hit your dodge button.

Finishers

Once you get an Order Member into a dazed state (where they stand still, stunned), you can perform a finisher:

  • Ceremonial Dagger: Alex grabs them from behind and slices their throat.
  • Steel Pipe/Crowbar: Alex jams the pipe into their chest, then swings upward to their head as they kneel.
  • Fire Axe/Pulaski Axe: While they're on their knees, Alex drives the axe into the top of their head and then kicks them off.
