Part 29

Find the Disrupter Stun Gun and start multiple quests in Prey's Arboretum section. Learn how to deal with the Weaver.

Head left and near the first junk pile, you can find a RECYCLER CHARGE in a stash box. Up ahead is a Weaver. You may have fought it in space before, but it's a bit more confined here. Be sure to QUICKSAVE (save your game progress) here!

The Weaver will try to use corpses to MAKE PHANTOMS, which is really, really bad. It will also try to make cystoids show up to swarm you. Lastly, when it gets near death, it will often run and try to hide (making more Cystoids). Best to ignore it if you can, but rush it with shotgun shots (or use Psychoshock) otherwise.

Weakness: Nullwave, Psychoshock

Immunity: EMP

Scannable Powers: Backlash I, II, III, Phantom Genesis I, II

The big thing you want to watch out for here is Cystoids, but try to get near it and use combat focus and your Q-Beam weapon to take it down fairly fast (ESPECIALLY if you've been upgrading). Or just blast it with the shotgun. You could jet past it if you wanted.

In the next area, you'll hear a call as you head towards your objective. There is a wreck here with a ton of eels scattered around. You can find EEL SCRAPS x4 here. To the right (in the cab) you can find CORRODED COIL x2 and some BURNT CIRCUIT BOARD x2 tucked away.

Continue forward to the "Arboretum" entrance area where you'll finally be back on firm ground!

There's some dead Typhons here you can loot with a TYPHON LURE and a corpse nearby. "Alika James Corpse" is here too, with a BASEBALL GLOVE. The toolbox has some SPARE PARTS and a CORRODED COIL. Check to the left to find EEL SCRAPS x2, a RECYCLER CHARGE, SPARE PARTS, some pizza, DUCK BEER x3 and the "TranStar Life - Employee Profile".

Collect all of it and head into the next new area.

We will get a call from January as we enter the Arboretum. There is a mimic in here to the left of the body, so take it out and nab the DISRUPTOR STUN GUN and check the man here. "Jia Kyung-Ho". Loot him for 9MM BULLET x6, DISRUPTOR BATTERY x2, TRANSCRIBE: JIA KYUNG-HO and a NEUROMOD. Listen to the transcribe for a new side quest:

• OBJECTIVE (Disgruntled Employee): Go to Deep Storage

Loot the toolbox here for a CORRODED COIL and the crates for FLEXIFOAM BOLT x2, FRAYED WIRE and a SUIT REPAIR KIT. The Recycler and Fabricator are here.

Head up the stairs and you'll see an enemy through the door. Unless you have Leverage III, you have to get around this door. Check the corpse near the vent nearby to find "Marc Sellers Corpse" for a LEMON PEEL and BANANA PEEL. Head into the vent now for another call from Morgan and another optional objective:

Head through the vents to emerge in the "Arboretum". We've got stairs in front of us and a greenhouse to the right.

Turn around and look for the FORMULA TESTING APPROVED NOTE on a piece of machinery. Reading this will give us a new side quest:

• OBJECTIVE (Gardening Tips): Find Dr. Julien Howard

There's a locked door nearby (Storage Room) that you can get into with your "Hacking I" skill. There's a mimic inside, so be ready. Raid the place for COLD MOUNTAIN GREEN COFFEE, KAFE KARSK, a WRENCH, the "Final Approval Note", FRAYED WIRE x2, CORRODED COIL, SISKAK UNAGI ROOLZ, CRISPY FRITES and RUSSIAN BLINIS x2.

Now take a right and head up the path to the back of the greenhouse. On the way, you can look out the right for a blown-up space shuttle (up by the corpse). This is "Edna Burton's Corpse". Loot her for a LEMON PEEL, RECYCLER CHARGE, and 9MM BULLETS x6.

Continue around the side of the building and at the front watch as a man tries to warn you away. He will soon be taken over by a "Telepath" though. QUICKSAVE here and look under the door for the GREENHOUSE HELP NOTE, which will give us a new side quest!

• OBJECTIVE (Save Rani): Save Rani from the telepathic Typhon

You can get into the greenhouse by either a keycard (which you can find later) or by "Hacking III".

The greenhouse will be tricky. There are THREE mind-controlled humans inside. QUICKSAVE before trying ANYTHING! The big threat here though is the TELEPATH enemy!
