Guide for Portal: Revolution Part 38, 'It's Going to Take Time'. Learn how to save 99 Lemmings within the 10:00 time limit.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Direct the Lemming digging to mine right, bumping into steel and discarding the pick. Then, mine left for the same result. The original climber/floater will turn around.
  2. 2
Focus on the Lemming climbing the wall to the right. Mine near the end of the plateau, between the two steel blocks. This Lemming will hit the steel, climb to the land, hit their head, and turn around.
  3. 3
Start mining once this Lemming passes the steel block walking left to create an unbroken tunnel down and left.
  4. 4
As soon as this Lemming starts mining, go to the other side and mine down and to the right. Pause (P) and zoom (Spacebar) if necessary.
  5. 5
Go to the climber/floater as they go up the wall while the two groups are mining. Have them build one bridge to the hanging staircase leading to the balloon, starting from the steel block just before it.
  6. 6
The walkers will finish their tunnel before the climber/floater finishes theirs and will wait. Bash if necessary on either side, though only one side can be bashed due to having only one basher.
  7. 7
Once both tunnels are complete, have the climber/floater build to hit their head and turn around, following the others instead of taking a long route to the exit. This Lemming is usually the last one in time. You should beat the clock by roughly ten seconds.
  8. 8
Your Lemmings start on a T-shaped steel ledge and alternate movement from left to right. Make the first of each build at the very edge of their respective sides. The release rate is low enough to not require blockers.
  9. 9
Wait for a Lemming to hit the wall to the right and walk left back up the steps. Make this Lemming a blocker; they are the only one you can kill in this stage.
  10. 10
Make two climber/floaters to pave the way for the rest of the Lemmings to get to the balloon.
  11. 11
Set the release rate to 99 once everyone else is safe.
  12. 12
The two climbers/floaters should be close enough to be up the large wall to the right by the time the first one turns the switch at the top, opening the metal door below.
  13. 13
Pause and zoom to get the next part right. Have the first climber build as close to the right edge of the next metal door as possible, using only one bridge.
  14. 14
As soon as the builder starts, pause (P) when the second Lemming in line reaches the bottom of the staircase. Zoom (Spacebar) and choose this second Lemming to mine.
  15. 15
This Lemming will go through the bottom of the stairs and hit steel. Have them mine left when they turn around next to the left side of the metal door. If you mine too far left, the rest of the Lemmings won't reach the top.
  16. 16
Alternate between your two climber/floaters, pausing frequently to check progress. The one that went forward toward the pool is 'First', and the one that turned back is 'Second'.
  17. 17
'Second' will bash and dig through walls. Dig through thin walls (except one you choose to bash through) and bash through larger ones, except for the one near the beginning with arrows pointing right. Allow a walker to handle that.
  18. 18
'First' will walk into the pool after finishing stairs and flipping a lever, just as the water finishes draining. Build 2 1/2 rivets to the left of the silver pipe at the right end of the pool to exit with exactly one bridge. Precision is crucial due to limited builder supply.
  19. 19
'First' will turn a switch upon exiting the tank, draining the water in the pool to the right. Have 'First' climb the left-arrowed wall surrounding the switch.
  20. 20
Build a bridge four rivets to the left edge of the second pool to line it up perfectly. Remember to work with 'Second' during this time.
  21. 21
There is a switch in the second pool, obstructed by a silver pipe. Keep the cursor over 'First' to keep them in view as they go behind the pipe, then build at the wall to turn around and touch the switch. This opens a floor ahead.
  22. 22
'First' will go back over the left wall of the pool. Have them bash through the right end of the wall only, so they climb the left side and turn around to touch the switch.
  23. 23
'First' will dip back into the pool; again, build 2 1/2 rivets to the left of the silver pipe for an exact fit with the other edge.
  24. 24
'First' will walk up steps to two walls with right-facing arrows; they need to bash through both, touching a lever along the way that opens the door ahead.
Tips
  • Pause (P) and zoom (Spacebar) frequently for precise Lemming control.
  • The release rate is initially low, preventing the need for blockers.
  • Only one Lemming can be killed in this stage; use this strategically.
  • Precision is essential, especially when building bridges and mining tunnels.
  • Keep track of both 'First' and 'Second' Lemmings, alternating control between them.
  • The builder supply is extremely limited, so every bridge counts.
  • Ensure bridges and tunnels are aligned perfectly to avoid Lemming pathing issues.
  • The final Lemming to reach the exit is usually the last one in time.
