In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Mario can utilize his Paper Mode to slip under small gaps that he normally cannot walk under. This guide section covers how to perform this maneuver and where to find useful items and paths using it.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Return to the Twilight Trail and proceed east until you reach a fallen tree. Switch to Tube mode and roll under it. Press B to exit Tube mode and look behind the tree roots for a Star Piece.
  2. 2
Continue east to a massive haystack. Use Flurrie's ability to blow it away, then use the revealed pipe to enter the background. Continue left until the area changes to the Twilight Woods.
  3. 3
In the Twilight Woods, hit the coin block. Use Paper Mode to slip between a thin gap in the grasses. Look behind the trees for an item block containing an Earth Quake badge.
  4. 4
Proceed to the next area and hit the red block to obtain the Hammer Throw badge. Continue to the massive tree, use Flurrie to blow on it, revealing a hole that leads to the background. Head right to a deeper area.
  5. 5
In this deeper area, find a dark spot and use Flurrie to blow it away, revealing boards. Use a Spin Jump to break them, revealing a hole to the background. Continue right and push the background rock until it clears a hole in the foreground. Go back through the hole you entered from, continue east to reach another hole, and jump into it to reach the other side. Defeat or ignore the Hyper Cleft and continue east to Creepy Steeple.
  6. 6
Upon reaching Creepy Steeple, find the hole to the right of the gate. Use Tube Mode to get underneath the gate. From the other side, approach the gate to unlock it and enter.
  7. 7
Once inside Creepy Steeple, enter Tube Mode and roll into a hole upwards of the entrance. In this room, you can find an Ice Smash badge, a Cookbook, a Shine Sprite, and a Star Piece (behind the couch).
  8. 8
Exit this room and head to the right side of the main hall. Push the statue to reveal a hole.
  9. 9
After falling, use Flurrie to blow at the back of the room to reveal another hole. Enter this hole and head right to get a Flower Saver badge. Return to the springboard and use the door.
  10. 10
In the next room, examine the weird cube to release 200 Boos. Answer the Boo's question with "200" to obtain an Ultra Shroom. Return to the main hall using the springboard.
  11. 11
Talk to the lone Boo in the main hall and assure him you won't be mean. He will then summon 200 Boos to attack you. To fight the miniboss, allow Boos to accumulate near you, then use Super Hammer. This will enrage them, causing them to merge into an Atomic Boo.

Enemies in Twilight Woods:

  • Hyper Clefts: Spiked enemies similar to Hyper Bald Clefts, with high defense. Earth Tremors are effective against them.
  • Crayzee Dayzees: Flower-like enemies that can inflict sleep and damage. They often run away when low on HP.
  • Amazy Dayzees: Rare enemies that deal 20 HP damage and can inflict sleep, potentially causing a KO. Running away or stopping them is advised.

Miniboss: Atomic Boo

  • Max HP: 40
  • Attack: 4
