Learn how to farm vegetables, complete the Farmer Life Quest 'From Farmers, With Love', and create your own farm in My Time at Portia with this comprehensive guide.

Farmers are experts in growing vegetables, hence making a good synergy with the Cook Life. The tool for this life is the Hoe, and the Master is Inaji.

Life Quest: From Farmers, With Love

Start by talking with Inaji at Faraway Island. He'll instruct you to go talk with Teluce, his apprentice, who is just outside. Go to him, and he'll instruct you to farm three Onions.

Farming
This is pretty simple to do. Run around the field and press the button for a normal dig and the button for a hard dig to uproot the vegetables and collect them. If you position yourself at the right angle, you can harvest multiple vegetables at the same time, saving you SP. It goes without saying that other fields will have harder vegetables, so you'll need to level up your Farmer Life for higher-level vegetables.

Report back to Inaji, and he'll send you to Terrasa Farm to sell your produce. Fast Travel there and talk with the Material Shop merchant for a scene where Teluce shares that he wants some Super Sweet Onion and only the Leafe knows where to farm them. Fast travel to Valley of Spirits and talk to the Leafe marked.

The Leafe tells you where the Super Sweet Onion is in the form of a riddle. To make things easy, look at your map and return to Terrasa Farm. Go south to find a big onion on the fields to start a Boss Gatherable minigame. You basically want to stand where the red arrows are and hit the big vegetable from that angle to get better quality produce.

Once you get the Super Sweet Onion, watch the scene and return to Inaji to get your Fledgling Rank. You can now create a Farm at the Base Camp and buy seeds from Marco.
