Learn how to cook delicious dishes with buffs and benefits in My Time at Portia. Follow this guide to master the Cook Life and complete your first quests.

Hey there! So you're interested in becoming a Cook in My Time at Portia? Awesome choice! Cooks are super handy because they whip up tasty meals that give you all sorts of helpful buffs. Think of them as your in-game Healers and Bards, all rolled into one!

Your main tool as a Cook is the trusty Frying Pan, and your Master is a character named Cocott. Let's get you started with your first quest, 'A Bite of Happiness'.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
First things first, head over to the marker on your map to chat with Cocott, your Life Master. Your initial goal is to cook a Boiled Egg. You don't have one yet, so you'll need to grab some eggs.
  2. 2
Broyle, who you can find chilling right behind the Cooks' Guild, is your guy. Talk to him, and he'll hand over two Chicken Eggs.
  3. 3
Head back to the Guild and find Lanche. He'll give you the recipe for the Boiled Egg. Now, make your way to the workbench in the center of the room to start Cooking.

Cooking Minigame:

This minigame is pretty straightforward. You'll see a timer ticking down, and your job is to fill a gauge to 100% by performing actions at the workbench. You'll use the button and move around with the stick. Timing is key here – the quicker you are, the better the quality of your dish! Keep an eye out for special prompts that pop up occasionally, asking you to Tap , Hold , or Spin . Once the bar is full, your item is ready!

After you successfully craft an item for the first time, you'll get the Handicraft Worker achievement.

  1. Return to Lanche and give him the Boiled Egg you just made.
  2. During the following cutscene, you'll be tasked with cooking a Gourmet Fluffy Omelet. For this, you'll need some Tip-Top Tomatos. Head to the market in the Capital City to find them.
  3. Here's a bit of bad luck: the Market is currently out of tomatos! Apparently, they're only grown on Faraway Island by farmers. But don't worry, just as you're about to despair, a farmer from Faraway Island will magically appear and give you the exact tomatos you need. Pretty wild, right?
  4. Take those tomatos back to Cocott. She'll give you the recipe for the omelet and a few more eggs. Head back to the workbench and whip up that omelet. Once you're done, a scene will play out, and you'll officially earn the Fledgling rank! Congrats!
