Become a master Artist in My Time at Portia! Learn how to craft beautiful items, complete life quests, and impress your clients with this beginner-friendly guide.

Hey there! So you're looking to become an Artist in My Time at Portia? Awesome choice! Artists are all about making the world a more beautiful place, and you'll get to create all sorts of cool stuff like paintings and sculptures. Your main tool for this life will be the Paintbrush, and your Master is the wonderful Paulette.

Ready to get started? Let's dive into your first Life Quest: "Set my Soul Ablaze!"

Walkthrough
  1. 1
First things first, head over to your Life Master, Paulette. She's usually hanging out at her house. She'll tell you to go meet her pupil, Pastelle, who's chilling just south of the Restaurant. Chat with Pastelle for a bit.
  2. 2
After your chat, it's time to head back to the Atelier. Paulette's got your first test lined up: creating some Blue Paint. Make your way to the workbench on the left and get ready to create!
  3. 3
Making Art: This is a fun little minigame! You'll see a timer ticking down and a gauge you need to fill up to 100%. You'll do this by pressing the indicated buttons (usually [X/A]) and moving around the workbench using the directional buttons ([Left Stick]). Timing is key here – the faster you complete the actions, the better the quality of your paint!
  4. 4
You'll get a little notification that says "Handicraft Worker - Crafted an item for the first time." That's your cue that you've successfully made your first item!
  5. 5
Once you've got that Blue Paint, head back to Pastelle. She'll ask for your help with her own project and needs you to go to Stele Island. Follow the marker on your map and interact with the Stele there. You'll get to see a scene where Pastelle gets her inspiration back – pretty neat!
  6. 6
Return to the Atelier again. Pastelle will now give you a recipe for a Jovial Mask. Head back to the workbench and craft it up. Once it's done, go show Pastelle your handiwork.
  7. 7
Now, it's time to deliver that mask to the collector who commissioned it. They live in the house directly south of your current location. As soon as you enter their house, a scene will play out.
  8. 8
After the scene wraps up, head back to the Atelier one last time to chat with Paulette. She'll congratulate you and you'll officially achieve the Fledgling rank as an Artist!
Tips
  • Don't stress too much about the minigame at first. Focus on getting the timing down, and the quality will improve with practice.
  • Keep an eye on your stamina; some actions in the minigame might consume it.
  • Paulette is your go-to for all things Artist-related, so don't hesitate to ask her questions if you get stuck.
  • Fledgling Artist Rank
  • Jovial Mask (crafted)
