Chapter 7: Crack the Cog, Free Our Future

Complete Chapter 7: Crack the Cog, Free Our Future in My Time at Portia. Includes Fort Gardhart, Eternian materials, and the Dark Dragon boss fight.

Objective: Visit Rem in the Capital

1. You will trigger a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) upon entering the floor with the Cog of Time.
2. After more scenes, Rem will contact you and ask you to meet her in the Capital.
3. Head to the Capital to learn Skelegon's identity and that he talks.
4. After a cutscene, go to the inn to rest, though you won't be able to sleep.
5. Meet Rem at the marker for another lore-heavy cutscene.
6. You will be told to return to the throne room.

Objective: Go to Mysteria Castle

1. Mira, Ranoah, and Rem will be waiting with a plan to stop the Cog.
2. Return to the Base Camp and speak with Edward.
3. Edward will discuss completing the Cog recipe with Buddies who are in various places in the Past.
4. Speak with Rem in the Capital, who will tell you the locations of the Cog ingredients.
5. Rem will also inform you about a Fort in Ginormosia related to the Dark Dragon.
6. It is highly recommended to visit this Fort to make the Final Boss battle easier.
7. To reach the Fort, head to West Greatgut Plains in Ginormosia and use the Crow Feather near the entrance.
8. You must also complete the Shrines scattered around the Ginormosia map.
9. Once the force field is disabled, head inside Fort Gardhart.

Objective: Destroy the Wyrmheart

1. It is recommended to be at least Level 50 to safely tackle this dungeon.
2. Chests containing the Inferno Armor Set Recipes are located here.
3. All enemies are shadow versions.
4. The recipe for the Greatsword of Time can be found in 2F on the leftmost room.
5. At the end of each floor, you will face a boss.
6. 3F features a Level 50 Shadow Behemoth, which is slow and its AoE moves are easy to dodge.
7. After defeating the Behemoth, head upstairs and cross the bridge to the other tower.
8. The Wyrmheart will appear unprotected, but a Level 60 Guardian Golem will emerge.
9. The Guardian Golem is tougher than the Behemoth, with powerful AoEs that can knock down well-equipped Buddies.
10. After the fight, approach the Wyrmheart for a scene with Carla, who will explain what Ginormosia is.
11. Choose to destroy the heart to complete this objective.

Objective: Collect the Eternian materials

1. Gather the 5 Eternian materials needed for the recipe, each requiring a different Life to obtain.
2. If you lack the necessary Life, use a Buddy or grind in Ginormosia.
3. Eternia Gem: Found in Warren Willow Hollow, Capital of Mysteria. Head to the final room and select "Oven, Celery" to reveal a secret staircase to B1. In the northernmost room, find the Level 50 Eternia Gem Deposit.
4. Eternia Log: Found in Lulab Forest West, Faraway Island. From the Valley of Spirits, enter the forest, head west to the Recluse Cherry Tree, then north to find a Level 50 Eternian Tree.
5. Eternia Fern: Found in Elder Tree, Faraway Island. After Leafah and Johannes's song, head inside and find the Level 50 Eternian Fern in the last room.
6. Eternian Flying Fish: Found in Yohoho Cave, Tropica Isles. Go to the northwestern exit to enter the Cove of Time room, where the Level 50 Eternian Flying Fish is located.
7. Eternia Fleece: Found in Cave of Trials, Swolean Island. In the second room of B2, find a Level 50 Eternia Woolie. Stay to its sides as it only has frontal attacks.

Objective: Report to Edward

1. Return to the present with all gathered items.
2. Talk to Edward, who will give you the recipes to craft the items needed for the Cog.
3. If you lack the required skill, use a Buddy or grind your Life in Ginormosia.
4. Use the nearest workbench to craft:
   • Eternian Energy Stew: Requires 260 Cooking skill
   • Stone Gear Part: Requires 260 Blacksmithing skill
   • Wooden Gear Part: Requires 260 Carpentry skill
   • Cloth Gear Part: Requires 260 Tailoring skill

Objective: Craft the Interfere Gear

1. Return to Edward, who will give you the Interfere Gear Recipe.
2. Craft the Interfere Gear at a workbench: Requires 280 Alchemy skill.
3. Return to Edward again, who will give you an Interfere Gear+ Recipe.
4. Craft the Interfere Gear+ at a workbench: Requires 350 Art skill.
5. You will trigger cutscenes where you show the Gear to Rem, Ranoah, and Mira.
6. Return to the Present.

Objective: Talk to Edward

1. Head to the Depths entrance and talk to Edward.
2. Confirm you want to destroy the Cog of Time.
3. A short cutscene will play, leading into the final boss battle.

Boss - Dark Dragon (Level 60)

Phase 1: The Dark Dragon hangs on the edge of the platform, using swipe and headbutt attacks. Stay away from these and attack when openings appear.

Phase 2: The Dark Dragon flies away, becoming unreachable without ranged Combat Lives. Skelegon joins and deals some damage. The Dark Dragon will unleash missile attacks and throw bombs that can be thrown back for good damage.

Phase 3: Similar to Phase 2, but the Dark Dragon deals more damage. Continue throwing bombs and attacking when possible.

After defeating the Dark Dragon, Xernes appears to start another battle.
