Tips
  • Memorizing notes and practicing is key to mastering the Hunting Horn.
  • Experiment with various types of horns to find the buffs and abilities that best suit your playstyle.
  • Encores can significantly enhance buff effects.

Metal Bagpipe

The Metal Bagpipe is the first Hunting Horn crafted from the Ore tree and can be leveled to Tier III. Each tier branches into different parts of the Ore Tree. At Tier III, this weapon deals 420 base weapon damage and has Yellow sharpness (level 3). It can play the following buffs: Self Improvement (grants Attack Up (S)), Health Boost (S), Wind Pressure Negated, and Defense Up (S).

Kulu Duda

This Hunting Horn is forged from Kulu-Ya-Ku parts, which can be farmed after quest three through Investigations, expeditions, or replaying optional quests. Investigations are recommended for double rewards. To upgrade the Kulu Duda to Tiers II and III, you will need Boulder Bones, Radobaan, and Odogaron scales + claws, which may be late-game materials. At Tier III, the weapon deals 588 base weapon damage and has 15% Affinity, increasing critical hit chance. It has Green sharpness (level 4). The Kulu Duda offers the following buffs: Self-Improvement, Stamina use reduced (S), Wind Pressure Negated, Defense Up (S), Tool Use Drain reduced (S) (allowing more frequent use of items like the Ghillie Mantle), and Scoutfly Power Up. It is a decent mid-game choice when upgraded to Tier II or III.

Bone Horn

The Bone Horn is the first weapon forged from the Bone Tree, from which all other Bone weapons derive. Bone-based weapons generally deal more damage than Ore-based weapons, but both have different statistics to consider for your playstyle. This weapon can be leveled to Tier III, with each tier granting access to other parts of the Bone Tree. Upgrading requires Monster Bones and Ancient Bones. At Tier III, the Bone Horn deals 504 base damage and has Green sharpness (level 4) at all tiers.
