Alright, let's talk about the Kirin in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Legends paint it as this pure, graceful creature, but don't let that fool you. In reality, it's a living embodiment of lightning, and it's not here to make friends. It wants you out of its territory, and it's going to use its electrifying power to make sure that happens. Fighting a Kirin is a dangerous dance, and only one of you is walking away.

Areas: You'll primarily encounter Kirin in the Everwood and the Tower Summit.

Attacks:

Kirin's horn is its main weak point, so if you can, focus your attacks there. Breaking the horn will also net you more rewards. Be warned, though: most of Kirin's hide is incredibly tough, and even weapons with purple sharpness can bounce off it. If you don't have a skill like Mind's Eye, you'll have to rely on hitting the horn.

• Buck: Kirin will rear up on its hind legs and then slam down, kicking its back legs up to try and buck you off.
• Galloping Charge: It'll charge at you aggressively, often lowering its head to gore you with its horn. Keep your wits about you and be ready to dodge.
• Lightning’s Dance: Kirin tosses its head, and then lightning strikes the ground in specific patterns around it. Your best bet here is to keep your distance while it's performing this attack.
• Lightning’s Charge: This one's similar, but Kirin tosses its head up and lightning rapidly strikes the ground in a straight line directly in front of it, heading towards you. You'll need to dodge to the side to avoid getting zapped.

Breakable Parts:

• Horn: You'll know you've broken its horn when it appears noticeably shorter.

Weaknesses:

• Elemental: Kirin is weak to Fire and Water.

Keep in mind that Kirin is immune to paralysis and resistant to poison. As mentioned before, its body is generally very hard, especially the hind legs and back, so most weapons will bounce. Aim for the head if you can!
