Alright, so you've stumbled into the Dunes and found yourself face-to-face with the Desert Seltas Queen. This big gal is a real handful, not just because she's tough, but because she's got her little buddy, the Desert Seltas, wrapped around her little finger. Seriously, she can even make him sacrifice himself for her! Keep an eye out for her pheromones too, they can mess you up with the 'Soiled' status.

You'll find her starting out in Area 4 of the Dunes, but she likes to roam around Areas 7 and 10, and will sometimes rest in Area 5. Just keep that in mind as you track her.

Desert Seltas Queen Attacks & Strategy

This monster is absolutely merciless, and she's got way more control over the Desert Seltas than the regular Seltas Queen has over hers. It's pretty wild how she uses him as a weapon, and honestly, it makes the fight a lot more chaotic. Plus, her tail game is strong – it's longer and she uses it way more often than her smaller counterpart.

• Double Tail Flick: This is a nasty one that she can pull off super fast, with barely any warning. If you're behind her, you need to be really careful. Her tail sweeps left and right, and it's got a good reach, so it can easily send you flying. Don't get caught admiring her from behind!
• Seltas Catapult: This is where things get really wild. When she's extra ticked off, she'll literally rip the Desert Seltas off her back and hurl him straight at you. It's a one-way trip for him, poor guy. Don't worry too much about him though, she'll just pull another one out of the ground to replace him. Just focus on dodging that projectile Seltas!

Breakable Parts

Good news here: the Desert Seltas Queen shares all her breakable parts with the regular Seltas Queen. So, if you've fought her before, you'll know what to aim for. Go for those parts to weaken her and potentially get some extra loot.

Weaknesses

When it comes to taking her down, you'll want to exploit her weaknesses. She's particularly vulnerable to Ice elemental damage. If you've got any ice-elemental weapons, now's the time to bring them out. She also has a weakness to the Blast status effect, so weapons or items that inflict blast can be very effective in staggering her and dealing extra damage.
