Boss Battle: Monsoon - Ranked Battle #14 Strategy:

Monsoon is agile and has phases where he cannot be hit. When he falls below 70% health, he will hurl hammerheads and junk. You can destroy these in Blade Mode (a slow-motion combat state) or avoid them using Ninja Run (a rapid movement ability).

During unhittable phases, consider using an EM Grenade on him, entering Blade Mode, and hitting his head. Alternatively, continue fighting until you can hit him.

When Monsoon reaches 40% health, he performs a deadly attack by hurling a spinning wheel of debris. Use Ninja Run to avoid this and rush to the sides of the area.

At 10% health, Monsoon will hurl a large concrete obelisk. Hold the left stick up and press RT/R2, then perform the Quick Time Event (QTE) to finish him.

Monsoon's Attacks:

  • Regular Slash: Can all be parried (timed block) or blocked.
  • Flying Kick Series: A flurry of kicks; the last can cause a BMI error, so block/parry.
  • RP Sneak Attack Series: Monsoon throws an RP grenade and leaps at you multiple times from various directions. Be ready to parry each time.
  • Bastard Stab: Monsoon jumps and repeatedly stabs you.
