Hoohoo Village

A complete walkthrough of Hoohoo Village in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, detailing item locations, character interactions, and how to progress through the area.

Upon reaching the pathway before Hoohoo Village, go southwest and you will be stopped by 3 guards. They accuse you of kidnapping Prince Peasley. After a misunderstanding and Tolstar's intervention, you are let go. The guards discuss the prince's kidnapper and his obsession with "fink-rats" (Fawful). Continue into the village.

In the village, talk to townsfolk. Drop to the lower area and enter the room in the waterfall to find 3 blocks containing Coins and a Mushroom. Outside this room, find another Mushroom in a block to the left. Go east and use High Jump to reach the upper area. The villagers speak of climbing the mountain and a town at its base. You'll learn that the giant Blablanadon could take you to the summit but is currently searching for Prince Peasley. Go west into the second area.

In this area, save at the Save Album. If you took the upper path west, you'll find the bridge to the mountain is out. Enter the cave to the left of the Save Album. Hit the first block for Coins, then another to the left for a Mushroom. Use both brothers to reach the top ledge, then use Spin Jump to reach the right ledges and enter the next room. Hit another block for a Mushroom, and the Bros. Block for Coins. Go south to an outside area. Hit blocks for 2 Mushrooms, a Syrup, and Coins. Talk to the people, then drink water from the fountain to make Mario bloated. Spray it out with Luigi's High Jump. For extra Coins, High Jump on the bloated Mario in front of a fan to the south and west; you'll get a Coin per jump. Enter the cavern to the far east. You'll find a giant Koopa that you cannot move, so leave for now.

Backtrack through the cave and return to the Save Album. Take the lower path west into the next area. Talk to people outside and in the small building, then continue westward. In the next section, you will encounter Fawful taunting a village guard. He will drop a giant rock, blocking your path. Return to the area with the broken bridge. Enter the house to meet the Hammerhead Bros. They are trying to make a Hammer from a stone but fail. They agree to make you a Hammer if you retrieve Hoohoo Blocks from the summit. Have Mario jump to agree, then Luigi. Leave the house to find the bridge completed, then go westward.
