Learn how to unlock and assign skills through the Skill Inheritance system in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Boost your party's combat effectiveness with this guide.

In Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Experience points increase your character level, while Job Experience (JEXP) increases your Job Rank. Each character has their own Job Rank, and JEXP is only earned for the currently active job. Increasing Job Rank unlocks new skills and passive stat boosts. You can view unlocked skills by navigating to the menu > Party > Jobs, selecting a character, and pressing the / button to see the active job's skills, or / to toggle between other jobs the character has access to. Ultimate skills typically unlock at Job Rank 24 and 30, with higher ranks up to 99 providing passive stat boosts.

Skill Inheritance allows you to assign skills from other jobs to your current one. This feature unlocks in Chapter 5 when you gain the ability to change jobs. To inherit skills, you must first increase the Job Rank of the job that possesses the skill you want. Additionally, characters have six Skill Inheritance slots, which are unlocked by increasing their Bond Level (for companions) or Personality Traits (for Ichiban).

Unlocking Skill Inheritance Slots

Skill Inheritance slots are unlocked through the following prerequisites:

  • Slot 1 (General Skills): Bond Level 10+
  • Slot 2 (General Skills): Bond Level 30+
  • Slot 3 (General Skills): Bond Level 40+
  • Slot 4 (General Skills): Bond Level 50+
  • Slot 5 (General Skills): Bond Level 70+
  • Slot 6 (Ultimate Skills): Bond Level 100+

For Ichiban, new Skill Inheritance slots are unlocked every time one of his Personality Traits reaches Lv5.

Assigning Skills via Skill Inheritance

Once you have unlocked Inheritance Skill slots and acquired the desired skills, you can assign them at any Alo-Happy building by interacting with the changing room and selecting "Skill Inheritance." The first five slots are for general skills, and the sixth is exclusively for ultimate skills, indicated by a rainbow-colored icon. This allows each character to utilize five normal skills and one ultimate skill from any job they have mastered, in addition to their active class skills.

It is generally recommended to equip a healing skill, an Area of Effect (AoE) skill, and a magic damage skill. Skills that provide buffs, revival, status ailments, or grappling can also be beneficial depending on the enemy and equipped weapon.
