Utilize Engineers in Kerbal Space Program to repair parts during EVA, maximize ISRU efficiency for resource conversion, and repack parachutes.

Engineers are your repair and resource specialists. Higher-level engineers can repair broken parts (like landing legs or wheels) during an EVA, which can save a mission from disaster. They are also crucial for maximizing the efficiency of ISRU operations, increasing the yield from drills and converters.

Additionally, engineers can repack parachutes and deploy/repack scientific experiments during an EVA. For long-duration missions or those involving surface bases and resource extraction, an experienced engineer is an absolute must-have.
