Complete Gears Tactics Part 23 walkthrough, including 'Bad To Worse' and 'Hazing' missions, and tips for the Berserker boss fight.
Walkthrough
- 1From your starting position, head straight forward and find some Cog Tags (CT26) near the corner of the building.
- 2After picking up the Cog Tags, make two left turns and proceed towards the doors. You cannot kick them open.
- 3Take cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) near the doors and snipe all enemies, using your shotgun for any Wretches, or alternatively, run near the Cog Tags with a grenade and attempt to plug the Locust hole, then be ready with your shotgun for any enemies that climb up.
- 4Once the Locust hole is sealed, two Boomers will appear near the doors. Locate the Hammer of Dawn near the door and use it.
- 5Switch back to your previously held weapon (crucial, as you cannot obtain another Longshot until the end of this chapter) and proceed through the now-open door.
- 6Enter the building and continue until you reach the first greenhouse-like area.
- 7As you exit this area, a Berserker will appear. Dodge its attacks and move through the door it emerged from.
- 8Continue down the hallway to the next greenhouse area. You can attempt to lure the Berserker to knock down the tree directly in front of where it appeared.
- 9Proceed forward as if it were another hallway. Head to the middle and locate the Hammer of Dawn at a bloodstain; switch to it.
- 10To use the Hammer of Dawn, you must first destroy the glass ceiling. Lure the Berserker to run into all the green pillars to knock them down.
- 11Once the glass is down, use the Hammer of Dawn on the Berserker when she is stunned after stopping or running into something. This will take two bursts on Casual and three on Insane.
- 12After defeating the Berserker, head up the middle to find a valve. Turning this valve will extinguish a fire blocking a hole in the wall.
- 13Proceed through the now-clear opening.
- 14In the next large area, head left to find a doorway. Proceed down the hallway and peek around the corner.
- 15If you have the Hammer of Dawn, use it on the Troika for an easy takedown. Otherwise, snipe the Troika quickly before it becomes a significant threat. Prioritize eliminating the Troika, even if it requires using grenades.
- 16Once the Troika is destroyed, an Emergence hole will appear near where you entered. Attempt to plug it; if unsuccessful, position yourself on the opposite side and prepare with your shotgun.
- 17Eliminate any emerging Locusts and Wretches.
- 18Hop over the low wall in the doorway on the right side (relative to your entry point). The Hammer of Dawn is no longer available as the satellites are offline.
- 19Head left from where you exit the hallway and find a Lancer. Take cover behind the flower box and engage long-range targets with sniping or the Lancer, and use your shotgun for close-range enemies.
Tips
- On Insane difficulty, the right path is generally considered easier due to fewer Wretches.
- If you struggle with the Troika on the left path, a Torque Bow can be effective if acquired earlier.
- When facing Boomers at the start, use the Torque Bow for easy kills if sniping is difficult. A Torque Bow can be found in an open door across the courtyard from the Sniper's nook or dropped by Theron Guards.
- The Longshot sniper rifle is useful on several occasions throughout this section.
- For the Berserker boss fight, focus on dodging its attacks and luring it into the pillars to break the glass ceiling.
- On Insane difficulty, the Berserker requires three Hammer of Dawn bursts. You may be able to deal additional damage with a shotgun if you get close when the beam falters, but this is not recommended due to ammo consumption.
- To make the 'Bad To Worse' section easier on Insane, rush to the Locust hole early to plug it before enemies become a major threat. Use the Hammer of Dawn on the Boomers.
- In the 'Hazing' mission, prioritize destroying the Troika first, even if it means using grenades.
- If you cannot plug the Emergence hole, position yourself opposite it and be ready with your shotgun.
- When engaging enemies after the Troika is dealt with, use cover behind the flower box and prioritize long-range targets with sniping or the Lancer, switching to the shotgun for close threats.
