Navigate Part 17 of Gears Tactics, dealing with Kryll and the Junker's UV Turret. Learn strategies for the highway and Last Stand.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
On the second highway, run towards the end.
  2. 2
The Junker can only fire its UV Turret or drive at one time. Press X to switch between driving and firing.
  3. 3
As soon as you round the first corner, kill the Kryll that appear from a clocktower.
  4. 4
Hop a small broken section and go around rubble. Kill Kryll that burst from a building ahead and to your right.
  5. 5
Kill more Kryll on the right.
  6. 6
Kill Kryll that attack from behind if you linger.
  7. 7
Smash through rubble, then go around the right, followed by a jump off a small broken section.
  8. 8
Focus on the building directly ahead, which is swarming with Kryll. Fry them all.
  9. 9
Kill more Kryll that come from behind you.
  10. 10
When the attendant says, "SIX O' CLOCK!", turn around and fry the first moving thing you see.
  11. 11
Head down the off-ramp to the right.
  12. 12
Make a left and follow the small road forward until you can't anymore.
  13. 13
Make a right to reach an underpass. Kill Kryll that burst from a building ahead and to the left.
  14. 14
Take a right, another right, and another right to get back on the highway.
  15. 15
On the second highway, smash through all rubble and hit jumps until the cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) (a non-interactive story sequence) that ends the chapter begins.
Tips
  • Kill EVERYTHING on the first highway and the normal road, then RUN on the second highway.
  • If you are unlucky, you may finish deep in the red (low health).
  • The Junker's UV Turret can be switched to by pressing X.
Walkthrough
  1. 1
Head down the walkway. On your left is a doorway with a burning toilet. Inside, pick up the regenerating ammo boxes and the Longshot.
  2. 2
At the end of the walkway, behind a broken wall, is a Longshot and grenades.
  3. 3
Shoot out of one of the two windows inside the room with the burning toilet to kill the first few enemies and an Emergence Hole (a hole in the ground where enemies appear).
  4. 4
Head outside. Snipe the two Locusts on the roof directly ahead by zooming in with the Longshot.
  5. 5
Use the Y button to locate the next Emergence Hole and snipe from behind a long, low wall.
  6. 6
If you run low on Longshot ammo, pick up more from inside the building or at the end of the walkway; they regenerate.
  7. 7
Slightly left of the Emergence Hole, in a hole in the wall, is a sniper. You can shoot the roof to make it cave in on him, or snipe him.
  8. 8
When enemies come from the buildings on the far right, hide behind a low wall, or preferably the broken wall. Snipe them.
  9. 9
    Pick up ammo when done.
  10. 10
At the second checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death) (a save point), a Boomer appears. Warning: Headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill) him a few times until he falls, then kill his minions.
  11. 11
When Boomers appear behind you, look for a giant rolling barrel. Shoot the propane tank beneath it to crush the Boomers.
Tips
  • There are no short-range enemies; only Locusts at a distance, making the Lancer difficult to use.
  • Do not use the turret at the end of the walkway; it is too hard to hit Locusts and you lose health fast.
  • If you get low on Longshot ammo, run inside the building or to the end of the walkway to pick up more.
Walkthrough
  1. 1
You will no longer be hunted by Kryll, though they still appear.
  2. 2
Deal with Lambent Wretches, learning their detonation distance. The magnum is useful for long-range ones.
  3. 3
Underground in the Locust mines, you will face more Lambent Wretches than Locusts.
  4. 4
At the end of this chapter, you will encounter Theron Guards, which are upgraded Drones.
Tips
  • Learn the distance to shoot Lambent Wretches so they don't hurt you when they blow up.
  • The magnum helps a lot for long-range Lambent Wretches.
  • Theron Guards are more armored and take more shots to kill: two Longshot bullets on Casual and Hardcore, and three on Insane.
  • Theron Guards carry Torque Bows and have deadly accuracy. If you see two vertical glowing orange lights and/or hear something "charging up," duck behind cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) immediately.
