Guide to Chapter 12, Frozen Sea, in Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation. Learn strategies to defeat Flora, recruit Camilla, Beruka, and Selena, and navigate the frozen seas.
Alright, welcome to Chapter 12, the 'Frozen Sea'! This one can be a bit tricky because the sea itself is frozen, which really messes with your ground units. Don't worry, though, we'll get through it. The main objective here is to defeat the boss, Flora.
Walkthrough
- 1Initial Setup: Before you even think about engaging, spread your units out across the map. Make sure you have some in each major quadrant. This is super important because you won't be able to move your foot soldiers freely until Turn 6. Also, make sure your healers are dispersed and bring along plenty of flying units. Try to keep those flyers away from any Outlaws, as they can be a real pain. Azura will mention that the enemies have free movement while you're stuck waiting for the tides to shift. So, for now, just focus on holding your ground, pair up units for protection, and keep everyone healed.
- 2Turn 6 - The Shift: When Turn 6 arrives, you'll get access to Dragon Vein options. These are your ticket to crossing the frozen sea and reaching the other ships! This is exactly why spreading out your royal units earlier was so crucial. Start by heading to the southernmost boat. The experience you'll gain there is totally worth it. You'll find Camilla's retainers, Selena and Beruka, waiting for you there, along with Camilla herself. Be warned, Camilla is the biggest threat on this ship, so be prepared to face her head-on, or maybe unleash Takumi if you've got him.
- 3Turn 7 and Beyond: Keep an eye out, because you'll face more reinforcements on Turn 7. Once you've dealt with those, you can start making your way towards the northeast part of the map. That's where Flora, the boss, is waiting for you.
Boss Fight - Flora:
- Stats / Weaknesses: Flora is your retainer from Nohr and Felicia's sister. She's relatively easy to defeat if you're prepared. Keep in mind that Daggers inflict debuffing effects. Also, similar to a Ninja class, she can attack both at range and up close, so be mindful of her attack range.
New Allies:
- Camilla: Recruited automatically at the end of the chapter. She's a Malig Knight. Despite her class, her Strength stat is much higher than her magic, making her a great physical attacker. She's a powerful prepromoted unit and a royal sibling, so she'll likely be a strong addition to your team. You might even consider reclassing her to a Wyvern Lord later for even more power.
- Beruka: Recruited automatically at the end of the chapter. She's a Wyvern Rider. While she might seem to be in Camilla's shadow due to both being wyvern users, Beruka is notably faster and more accurate.
- Selena: Recruited automatically at the end of the chapter. She's a Mercenary, which is a pretty standard, balanced class. She's a good middle-ground unit, not as fast as Hana but not as bulky as Hinata. This is actually your first Mercenary unit, which is pretty neat!
