Walkthrough
  1. 1

Where are you? You'll start in the Throne Room of Castle Valla. This map is very open, with no real cover to speak of.

What do you see? A large number of Nohrian-class enemies are spread out, with Gunter himself waiting for you. There are also pools of water that can be frozen by Dragon Veins.

What do you do? Your main strategy here is to keep your units grouped together. Don't let anyone, especially your healers or magic users, get isolated. Blitz your way towards Gunter, focusing fire on him when you can.

Why this way? Being in the open means your units are vulnerable. If you spread out, enemies like the Berserkers with their high critical hit rate can easily pick off isolated units. Keeping grouped protects everyone.

  2. 2

Where are you? Moving across the open Castle Valla map.

What do you see? Dragon Veins are scattered around the map. Reinforcements might appear from the frozen water pools.

What do you do? If a Dragon Vein is on your path, activate it. It will freeze the water for about seven turns, preventing reinforcements from showing up. Don't go too far out of your way just to activate them, though.

Why this way? Stopping reinforcements makes the map much more manageable, especially since you're in such an exposed area. It buys you time to deal with the current threats.

  3. 3

Where are you? Approaching the boss, Gunter, in the Throne Room.

What do you do? Focus your attacks on Gunter. He's quite weak and has several vulnerabilities.

Why this way? Gunter is the main objective. Defeating him is key to progressing. He's particularly weak to Armorslayers, the Sting Shuriken, and magic attacks. Exploit these weaknesses to take him down quickly.

Tips
  • Keep your magic users handy to deal with those high-crit Berserkers from a safe distance.
  • Don't underestimate the power of grouping up. It's your best defense on this open map.
  • Gunter himself is not the main challenge; getting to him through the enemy ranks is the real hurdle.
