Silas is a newly appointed Nohrian knight, and he's also Corrin's childhood friend! He's known for being really kind and surprisingly skilled for his age, though he also sports the worst bedhead in the army. He's a solid choice for your team, especially if you like well-rounded units.

Here's a look at his growth rates:

As you can see, Silas has some really great growth rates across the board. He's particularly strong in Skill, making him accurate, and his Strength is decent too. His Speed and Defense are solid, meaning he can take a hit and dish one out without being too slow. The only stat that's really low is Magic, but honestly, that's not something you need to worry about for Silas since he's a physical attacker.

Silas starts as a Cavalier, which is a fantastic class for him. He can also branch into Mercenary as a secondary class. This is a great combo because it gives him access to skills like Sol when he promotes to Hero. Sol is amazing for survivability, letting him heal himself when he attacks!

When it comes to promotion, Silas really shines as a Paladin. He's got enough Speed to make that class work really well. While Great Knight is also an option, his higher Speed makes Paladin the slightly better choice for him, in my opinion. Just don't even think about using him for magic – his Magic growth is so low it's practically nonexistent, and that's perfectly fine for his role.
