Learn about the Rover's skills in Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth, including pet summoning, healing, and debuffing abilities.
The Rover is a support unit in Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth, with most of its skills requiring the presence of pets. Two pets are available: Hawk and Hound. Both can be summoned if needed.
Skills:
- Bow Mastery: Passive skill that increases physical ATK by 15% when equipping a bow. Does not affect Hawk or Hound attack power.
- Animal Therapy: Passive Heal skill that restores HP at the end of the turn. Requires a Hawk or Hound on the field. If multiple Rovers have this skill, only the one with the highest level activates it. Priority is given to the Rover in the back row if skill levels are the same. Restores Hawk and Hound HP, but not Bunkers and Wraiths.
- Hawk Whistle: Support skill that summons one Hawk. The summoned Hawk's stats are multiplied by 1.5. The Hawk's level matches its summoner's level. Can be used while navigating in the labyrinth (navigating the maze). If both Hawk and Hound are summoned, Hawk attacks before Hound.
- Hawk Arrow: Attack skill requiring Hawk Whistle (3) and a Hawk on the field. Deals stab damage, and if the Hawk is alive and the target is not defeated, the Hawk performs a follow-up splashed cut damage. Works well with Fencer's _Chain Burst_. Requires the user to equip a bow. Accuracy is 99%. Action speed is 75%. Costs 6 TP, 12 TP at max level.
- Wing Thrash: Attack skill requiring Hawk Whistle (3) and a Hawk on the field. Deals stab damage, and the Hawk performs a follow-up cut damage to that enemy's row. Unlike _Hawk Arrow_, the Hawk still performs its follow-up even if the target is defeated. If the defeated target is the only enemy in the front row, the follow-up occurs to enemies that move to the front row. Always activates at the start of the turn. . Accuracy is 99%. Costs 9 TP, 18 TP at max level.
- Hound Whistle: Support skill that summons one Hound. The summoned Hound's stats are multiplied by 1.5. The Hound's level matches its summoner's level. Can be used while navigating in the labyrinth. If both Hawk and Hound are summoned, Hawk attacks before Hound.
- Aid Command: Heal skill requiring Hound Whistle (3) and a Hound on the field. Restores HP by 150 + 34% of the target's maximum HP, and also cures the target's ailments. Action speed is 85%. Costs 7 TP, 14 TP at max level.
- Hunter Shot: Attack skill requiring Hound Whistle (3) and a Hound on the field. Deals stab damage, and then the Hound attempts to bind the target's arms and legs with a 50% chance if they are still alive. The sealing chance is rolled separately. . Action speed is 75%. Costs 5 TP, 13 TP at max level.
- Brushing: Passive Heal skill that restores HP at the end of the turn. If multiple Rovers have this skill, only the one with the highest level activates it. Priority is given to the Rover in the back row if skill levels are the same. Compatible with _Animal Therapy_.
- Target Arrow: Debuff skill. Deals stab damage and decreases physical DEF by 30% for 6 turns. While the debuff is active, the Hawk and Hound will also attack this target, as well as Wraith. Hound will always attack instead of its normal behavior (recovering HP). . Accuracy mod (a community-made modification that changes the game) is +20. Costs 4 TP, 10 TP at max level.
Recommended Race: Therian. Most skills are based on pet stats, so race is somewhat flexible for the Rover.
Possible Equipment: Bow, Light Armor, Clothes.
Tips
- The Rover can fit into any team composition and can be placed in either the front or back row.
- Avoid bringing other classes that can summon, such as Necromancer or a bunker-focused Dragoon, if you want to maximize the Rover's pet benefits.
- The Rover can act as a party healer.
- When the Target Arrow debuff is active, the Hound will not passively heal with lick and will instead launch a normal attack unless ordered to do something else with another skill.
