Navigate the dangers of 7F in Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth. Learn enemy weaknesses, FOE patterns, and how to obtain rare items like the Emperor Beetle and Moon Apples.

Once you set foot here, it's better to go back to the town and accept the requests unlocked by reaching 7F. Therefore, you can clear them while exploring this area. You also need a Forest Fish to be given later. Moreover, you need someone who has learned Animal Care, Hunting Skill and Forage Skill to deal with three events later, as well as Detect Mana and Brute Strength that will be required to deal with an event not in this floor.

Remember, the difficulty can be changed anytime when you're in town.

Head straight and open the door to the next zone. Here you'll see a new FOE called Bucking Giraffe. This creature moves on their patrol route, but he can leap for several steps ahead until he hits the wall / obstacle, then spend the next two turns to recover and make a turn, respectively. He won't be alerted even if you are directly in front of him.

As long as you watch the FOE's moving pattern, it would be easy to avoid combat. For now just continue to the east and skip the intersection to arrive at a dead end. Nothing seems interested here since you only find a rotted tree, but maybe there is more on it. Select the first option Check it out and eventually you'll see a gigantic beetle inside the hollow of a trunk. It seems like a rhinoceros beetle that is popular among collectors, so you decide to attempt to capture it. If there is a party member who has learned Animal Care, they will know the way to capture it. Select the second option Brush sugar water in an empty bag to successfully capture an Emperor Beetle. If you choose the first option Quickly catch it with your hands, you'll miss and the insect will fly away. If you don't have someone who has learned Animal Care, you won't be able to catch the beetle as well, and the event will end without receiving a log. In the other hand, if you choose the second option Hurry onward, you'll miss the chance and the event will end without receiving a log as well.

Adventurer's Log

Backtrack a bit and continue your progress to the east where another FOE lurks around this area. Depending on the FOE's position, make a careful progress to avoid being trapped and forced to fight. Once getting outside of the block, head south to find another event in the southeast corner of this map. In this area your adventurer sense picks up a signal of a something nearby. There are also small footprints of animal, and someone who has learned Hunting Skill should be able to track the beast down. If you do, select the first option Hunt the animal and that character will manage to find a group of rabbits and obtain a random amount of 3 - 5 Meats as result.

Adventurer's Log

_Rabbit Season_

You tracked down a herd of rabbits using your Hunting skills and successfully obtained their meat.

Follow the way north and near the edge of a cliff you'll spot a stack of Moon Apples laying on the ground. These fruits are probably left by other adventurer but there is no one nearby. You can immediately take the fruits or wait for the owner to come. The best action of this would be by taking the second option Wait for a while. After awhile you'll meet your friend / NPC Conrad who is the owner, and he'll give you Moon Apple x8. If you choose the other option Take an apple, it would lead to more decisions (up to two times) but nothing beats the aforementioned result.

Backtrack a bit and head west to arrive at an area with two FOEs patrolling on the same route. Your first objective is to reach the chest in the northeast that contains a Ward Chime. Head back and now you need to reach the opposite exit, which is located in the southwest. By careful walk, go to the center of the area by taking two steps west and two steps south, then repeat it to reach the southwest exit.

Continue a bit until you find a shortcut to an area near the entrance, then head north and take the northeast route to find a shining spot where you can harvest a random amount of Moon Apples. Now take the northwest route and eventuall
