How to Beat Corrupted Sentinel

The Corrupted Sentinel is the first major boss you'll face in the Forsaken Sanctuary. It's a large, heavily armored Blighted warrior that serves as an introduction to boss mechanics.

Attack Patterns:

• Overhead Slam: The Sentinel raises its massive weapon high and slams it down, creating a small shockwave. This attack is slow and telegraphed.
• Horizontal Sweep: A wide, sweeping attack with its weapon. It has a decent range.
• Shield Bash: If you get too close, it might perform a quick, short-range bash with its shield.
• Blight Pulse: At around 50% health, it will occasionally emit a small pulse of Blight around itself, dealing minor damage and pushing Lily back slightly.

Phases:

The Corrupted Sentinel has two main phases, with the second phase introducing the Blight Pulse and slightly faster attack animations.

Weaknesses:

The Sentinel is vulnerable to consistent melee damage. Its Blight Gauge fills steadily with repeated hits. There are no specific elemental weaknesses.

Recommended Spirits & Strategy:

• Primary Spirit: Guardian Knight. This will be your main damage dealer. Focus on upgrading its attack power.
• Secondary Spirit: None (or any utility Spirit if you've found one). At this stage, you likely won't have a secondary combat Spirit.

Strategy: The key to this fight is patience and precise dodging. The Sentinel's attacks are powerful but well-telegraphed. Wait for it to complete an attack (e.g., after an Overhead Slam), then quickly move in with your Guardian Knight for 2-3 hits. Immediately prepare to dodge its next attack. For the Horizontal Sweep, you can either dodge through it or jump over it if you're at a safe distance. When its Blight Gauge (top right) fills, it will be stunned, allowing you to unleash a flurry of attacks with your Guardian Knight. Repeat this hit-and-run strategy. Don't get greedy with your attacks; prioritize avoiding damage. If you have any healing items, use them when your health drops below 50%. Upon defeat, purify its essence to gain the Sentinel's Shield Spirit, which is crucial for future encounters.
