Discover the locations of all three Great Katana weapons in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Learn where to find the Great Katana, Dragon-Hunter's Great Katana, and Rakshasa's Great Katana.

Alright, Tarnished! Looking to get your hands on some of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree's most powerful Great Katanas? You've come to the right place. There are only three of these bad boys to find, and I'll walk you through exactly where to snag each one.

Every Great Katana

Here's a quick look at the Great Katanas you'll be hunting:

NameSkill
Great KatanaOverhead Stance
Dragon-Hunter’s Great KatanaDragonwound Slash
Rakshasa’s Great KatanaWeed Cutter

Great Katana Location

First up is the standard Great Katana. You'll find this one chilling on a corpse in a pool of water. It's located to the west of the Greatbridge, just north of the Gravesite Plains. Keep an eye out for that familiar glint on a fallen warrior.

This weapon requires 14 Strength and 18 Dexterity.

Its special skill, Overhead Stance, lets you start with the blade held high. From this stance, a normal attack will have you step forward and slash downwards, while a strong attack unleashes a series of downward slashes. Pretty cool for setting up your next move!

Dragon-Hunter’s Great Katana Location

Next, we have the Dragon-Hunter’s Great Katana. To get this beast, you'll need to defeat the Ancient Dragon-Man. He hangs out in a specific area: head east from the start until you hit the first fork in the path, then take the left. At the second fork, go right. At the third fork, stick to the right and follow the statues ahead. Eventually, you'll be invaded by the Ancient Dragon-Man himself.

This weapon needs 15 Strength and 20 Dexterity.

The Dragon-Hunter’s Great Katana comes with the Dragonwound Slash skill. This cloaks your weapon in a jagged gravel-stone aura before you perform a high leaping slash. If you charge the attack, the aura will actually fire off, adding some extra punch.

Rakshasa’s Great Katana Location

Finally, the Rakshasa’s Great Katana. This one's a bit more of a trek. You'll need to defeat an enemy named Rakshasa, who resides in the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum. If you haven't been there yet, start at the Storehouse, First Floor site of grace in the Shadow Keep. Take the elevator down to an area with burning boats.

From there, head east and keep a close eye on the left side of the platform – you'll spot a ladder to climb down. Go through the waterfall, climb down another ladder, and enter the room with a painting. Attack that painting to reveal a hidden room. From this hidden room, head down to the bottom of the path and interact with the coffin to be transported to a secret part of Scadu Altus.

Once you're in this secret area, follow the path directly south. Hop on your spectral steed and drop down to the area below using the stone coffins. Finally, head northeast to reach the Mausoleum. Defeat Rakshasa there, and the Great Katana is yours!

This weapon requires 12 Strength and 27 Dexterity.

Its special skill is Weed Cutter, which lets you perform scythe-like horizontal swings with the sword. It's got a unique feel to it!
