How to Find Needle Knight Leda and Complete her Quest

Your very first encounter with Leda is going to be near a strange cocoon in the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum. You know, the area you get to by interacting with that weird, withered arm sticking out of a cocoon. When you find her, make sure to talk to her and exhaust all her dialogue options. She'll explain that she's also been called to this place and that Miquella is now in the Land of Shadow. She'll then point you towards the cocoon's arm, telling you to touch it to get to the new realm. Go ahead and touch that creepy arm – it’ll transport you into a cave within the Land of Shadow.

Note: You absolutely need the DLC installed to meet Leda for the first time. She's found in the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum, the same area where you fight Mohg.

Next up, you'll need to head to the Gravesite Plain region. Look for the Belurat, Tower Settlement Map Marker by heading northwest. This place is a tough legacy dungeon, and you'll have to push through the entire thing and defeat its boss before you can get your hands on a letter from Leda. Once you've beaten the boss, leave the room and take the elevator to the east. At the top, walk to the end of the bridge and open the door. In the area that follows, grab the Scadutree Fragment near the broken statue to your south, then head up the stairs to the north.

The path ahead will be blocked, but you'll find a letter from Leda right next to the balcony on the right side of the stairs (Map Marker). This letter is important! It reads: “The Gate of Divinity lies in the tower, sealed by shadow. That is surely where Kind Miquella is headed. We are no Empyreans, but we must locate the path that will lead us there. I will follow the crosses east.” Basically, she's telling you she's heading east. The maps included with the letter will show you that your next destination is east, over the Ellac Greatbridge, through Castle Ensis, and into the Scadu Altus Region.

Quick Tip: After defeating the boss in Belurat, make sure to head east and take the elevator up.

Before you can catch up with Leda again, you've got to get through Castle Ensis (Map Marker). You'll find it by heading northeast from the Gravesite Plain site of grace (Map Marker), across the Ellac Greatbridge. Once you're out of the castle, you'll find yourself in the Scadu Altus region. Just follow the path north, and you should reach the Highroad Cross site of grace (Map Marker) pretty quickly. Leda will be there, along with another NPC named Hornsent.

Chat with Leda, exhaust her dialogue, and then ask her about any NPCs you've met. At this point, you'll only be able to ask about Hornsent (who's standing right there) and the “Silent Monk” (Dryleaf Dane), who you can find in Moorth Ruins to the southeast (Map Marker). This conversation will flesh out the lore of these characters, giving you a clearer picture of who's who.

Heads Up: After clearing Castle Ensis, keep heading north. You'll find a site of grace on your right.

Now, make your way towards Shadow Keep (Map Marker) by following the path north/northeast. You'll eventually hear a loud noise, and a notification will pop up saying the Great Rune has been destroyed. This event is a game-changer; it'll alter most NPC questlines, including Leda's, and set you up for a pretty important choice. Head back to Leda at Highroad Cross. She'll explain that an enchantment that was influencing some NPCs has broken, revealing that some of Miquella's followers weren't true believers, but were just under the enchantment's spell. Leda, however, seems to still be a true believer. She'll then ask you who you think she should deal with among the non-believers, presenting you with a critical decision.

• Suggest Thiollier: Honestly, not much comes of this. Leda will figure out that even though Thiollier follows St. Trina, he doesn't really pose a threat to her or Miquella.

After you've suggested confronting the Hornsent, it's time to head to Shadow Keep for real. Navigate your way through this legacy dungeon until you reach the battlements area with the burning boats. This is just before you take the elevator up to the Storehouse, First Floor site of Grace (Map Marker).
