Not All That's Dormant Is Dead

Navigate the dangers of the Witchwood and Cassardis in Dragon's Dogma 2. Learn about the Metal Golem, Rowland, the Ancient Tablet, and quests like The Dragon's Tongue and Farewell, Valmiro.

As you traverse the riverbank, be aware that not all Golems are dormant. Encountering a Metal Golem is challenging enough, but if it's accompanied by another, the situation can quickly become dire.

18) Your final task in the Witchwood involves returning to the 'Guardian's Grave'. Here, you'll find Rowland, who was previously attacked by Southron Bandits. He claims to be resting in this precarious location. Near Sofiah's grave, you'll find an 'Ancient Tablet'. Picking it up prompts Rowland to suggest seeking a priest's expertise. This initiates a new quest. You are now finished with the Witchwood for this playthrough. Exit via the Seabreeze Trail shortcut and return to Cassardis.

The Dragon's Tongue

19) Just outside Cassardis, you will face Zero, the leader of the assassins. Unlike the others, Zero is a Warrior and can inflict significant damage. Despite his power, he is slow, making him manageable with ranged attacks. Upon defeat, he acknowledges you as a 'true Arisen' and you will receive a 'Tightly Folded Letter' stating, "All children of the true god know the Arisen is the end of hope, not its source. See this evil expunged." This concludes the quest.

Cassardis

20) Enter Cassardis. There are no further quests in the well, but several points of interest remain. First, store any unwanted items at Pablos' Inn. Then, rest until morning to cure ailments and advance time. Gather the following items from your stash: one dose of Potent Greenwarish, one Lantern, one piece of Sour Ambrosial Meat, and one Pilgrim's Charm.

21) On the eastern side of the 'Fisherman's House', northeast of 'Your House' (where Selene may reside), you'll find Valmiro on a grassy bluff overlooking the sea. He has another quest for you, requiring supplies for a journey. The items needed are:

1. Potent Greenwarish x1
2. Lantern x1
3. Sour Ambrosial Meat x1
4. Pilgrim's Charm x1

The Pilgrim's Charm is the most difficult item to acquire, costing 70,000 gold from Fournival or 56,000 gold from Madeline, if her stock allows. It can also be found randomly, though not guaranteed. Valmiro will wait for you.

Farewell, Valmiro

22) After delivering the four items to Valmiro, he asks you to carry his luggage to the beach. You will find four crates near his boat on the southeast shore. Once the luggage is delivered, Valmiro invites you for a drink, leading to a cutscene where he explains his wanderlust.
