Death By A Thousand Cuts

Attack the Ur-Dragon's entire body, focusing on destroying individual parts.

Each destroyed part will turn black and fall off, with purple blood indicating damage. Brownish blood means no damage is being dealt.

Destroyed parts drop Ambrosial Meat (rotten or sour) and valuable Materials.

Move from body part to body part, destroying each area before moving on.

Specific body parts to target: each wing has two areas, each limb has three, the tail has three, two spots on its back, its gut and chest are one each, plus several more on the neck and head.

The Magick Archer Vocation is highly recommended due to Hunter Bolt dealing Holy damage (which the Ur-Dragon is weak against) and hitting multiple parts per shot. Hunter Bolt can take down half a life bar for a high-level Magick Archer.

The Magick Bow's attacks only lock onto living parts, simplifying targeting.

You may not be able to kill the Ur-Dragon in one encounter; it will fly away after a while but will not regain health. You can re-enter the arena to continue the fight.

Once the Ur-Dragon is defeated, a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) (a non-interactive sequence) will play, and your loot will be in a room to the north of the arena.

Climb a ledge on the northern edge of the arena to find this room and your treasure.

You will also receive the Achievement/Trophy 'The Messiah'.

A stone in the treasure room displays the names of vanquishers.
