Gear in Dragon's Dogma 2 Character Creator & Storage can be enhanced at shops, costing money and materials, to gain one to three stars. Dragon-Forging is the fourth and final upgrade step. Killing any draconic creature (like a Drake) gives every item a chance to become Dragon-Forged. You do not need to be hit by fire to achieve this. An item must have been previously upgraded to have a chance to be Dragon-Forged; un-upgraded gear will not be Dragon-Forged. The more stars an item has, the higher the chance it will be Dragon-Forged. When you fight the Dragon later in the game, everything you are wearing will automatically become Dragon-Forged, regardless of its upgrade status. Achieving a Dragon-Forged item grants the 'Dragon Forged' Achievement/Trophy.
