Defeat the Hydra in Dragon's Dogma 2 Character Creator & Storage to unlock an ornate chest with Darkened Gloves and more. Learn about Tainted Mountain loot.

The Hydra in Dragon's Dogma 2 Character Creator & Storage attacks by spitting acid, slamming its heads, attempting to swallow you (requiring right analog stick wiggling to escape), slithering, and sweeping its tail. It uses its body to bludgeon anything nearby. This is the only location where you will encounter a Hydra. While the Hydra is alive, Goblins will infinitely respawn (regenerate). The Hydra may attack and consume some of the Goblins.

If you return to the Tainted Mountain Temple, you will find that the old monsters and loot are still present. However, if you proceed past the Gorechimera to the area where you fought the Dragon, the path will be blocked. As a consolation prize, there are two new chests available: a square chest to the south and an ornate chest to the north. These chests contain low-quality Everfall loot, which is still valuable and potentially better than your current equipment. The new weapons from these chests can be useful in the Everfall until you acquire superior ones there.

Items from Ornate Chest: [Chilling Razors], [Crossed Cinquedea], [Cyclop's Sigil], [Saving Grace], [Solar Providence], [Threaded Cudgel].

Before heading to the Everfall, return to Gran Soren and make preparations. Purchase healing items like Potent Greenwarish from Camellia. Bring at least one Ferrystone and potentially some Secret Softener. The goal is to gather 20 Wakestones, but it is advisable to collect more to sell excess items and valuable loot.

The Everfall is a location that was once a vertical shaft with a spiraling ramp. Now, the bottom is gone and most ramps are ruined. Each ramp has a door leading to a different chamber with unique foes and loot. The chambers can be navigated using a 'clock face' analogy for orientation, with 12:00 being north, 3:00 east, 6:00 south, and 9:00 west. The chambers are explored in order of elevation, from highest to lowest, though not all are reachable in this order.
