Defeat Medusa in Dragon's Crown by understanding her attacks like Petrify and Eye Lasers. Learn when to look away and how to escape.
Walkthrough
- 1Navigate through Sections 1, 2, and 3, encountering Goblins, Orcs, Wasps, Pit Vipers, and Diana. Collect treasure from Wooden, Red, and Box chests.
- 2In Section 7, you will face the boss, Medusa.
- 3After defeating Medusa, you have the option to head right to the next section. This leads to encountering Medusa again, where you can obtain 3 treasure chests, one of which is golden. However, beating Medusa again results in escaping with less experience.
- 4If you are focused on loot runs and experience is not a priority, escaping after the first encounter with Medusa may be preferable.
- 5Continue through Sections 5 and 6, facing Pit Vipers, Owlbears, Goblins, Orcs, Diana, and collecting treasure from Wooden and Box chests.
- 6In Section 7, you will find Wooden and Golden treasure chests (containing a rune). Collecting 2 runes and a blue item unlocks the Golden Chest.
Medusa's Attacks:
- Pit Vipers: Medusa constantly summons pit vipers. While individually weak, they can bind you, leading to significant damage.
- Swipe: Medusa performs constant left and right swipes.
- Petrify: Medusa's eyes glow orange before casting Petrify. Look away when this happens. Evading directly towards Medusa can put you in danger, as Petrify deals high damage, and any damage taken while petrified is amplified.
- Sparks: Instead of Petrify, Medusa may release sparks when her eyes glow orange. These do minimal damage and can be ignored.
- Eye Lasers: Medusa can fire eye lasers along the ground when her eyes glow. Avoid their path as they inflict considerable damage.
Tips
- When Medusa's eyes glow orange, be prepared to either look away (for Petrify) or move out of the way (for Eye Lasers).
- If you are prioritizing loot over experience, consider escaping after the first Medusa encounter.
- The Underground Labyrinth (DCW2E) features general enemies like Wood Golems, Evil Wizards, Slime, Ghosts, Undeads, Skeletons, Goblins, Living Muds, and Vampire Bats. It also contains Wooden (x3), Metal (x2), and Red (x2) treasure chests.
