Aeducan Thaig

Follow this walkthrough to navigate Aeducan Thaig in Dragon Age: Origins, defeat Darkspawn and Deep Stalkers, collect vital items, and progress your quests.

Alright, let's get through Aeducan Thaig. You'll start by following a long path. Keep an eye out for some Darkspawn – take them out. When you hit a fork in the road, go right. You'll find a Fractured Stone to loot there. Then, head west. More Darkspawn are bound to show up, so be ready to fight. While you're at it, there are two chests and another Fractured Stone to grab. On the west side, look for a Small Bloody Sack. Inside, you'll find a Bag of Limbs and unlock Codex 318: Asunder. Now, head south. There's a Fractured Stone tucked away to your left just after you deal with the Darkspawn. Keep pushing down the path, and you'll run into some Deep Stalkers. Take them down, and you guessed it – another Fractured Stone to loot. Enter the large ruins ahead; you'll find two more Fractured Stones and a broken chest to check.

After that, you'll face more Deep Stalkers. Once they're down, you'll have a chat with Lord Dace. If you have the promissory note, show it to him. For now, you can choose not to travel back with him. Keep moving southeast, looting two chests and a wooden crate along the way. More Deep Stalkers will attack, so defeat them and loot the chest nearby. Continue following the path, and keep an eye out for another Fractured Stone. You'll encounter more Deep Stalkers further on; fight them and grab the Fractured Stone to the south. Keep fighting your way east until you find a Fractured Stone. Head south from there.

This next area has two chests and a Fractured Stone. Be warned, Deep Stalkers will ambush you here. Once you've cleared them out, make your way back to the middle fork you passed earlier. This time, head all the way north. You'll have to fight some more Darkspawn. After the fight, loot the Fractured Stone, a chest, and a broken crate. That's Aeducan Thaig done! Now, you'll want to return to Orzammar and find Vartag in the Chamber of the Assembly. He'll take you to see Bhelen when you're ready. After some dialogue, agree to help him out. This will give you two new quests: “A Prince’s Favor: The Second Task“ and “Entering Jarvia’s Hideout“. These storylines actually merge, so head to the next section to continue.

Important Note: Collecting body parts like the Bag of Limbs is crucial for a quest later on. Your dog companion can also find the helmet Duty in this area.
