When you first encounter the Ogre in the Tower of Ishal, your main tactic should be kiting. Let your companions wail on the Ogre, but if it focuses on one character, take control of that character and run away from it. If the Ogre switches targets, simply switch to that character and repeat the kiting maneuver.

Should the Ogre manage to grab one of your party members, don't panic! Immediately switch to Alistair and use his Shield Bash ability. This will force the Ogre to release its grip, allowing you to continue the fight.

Keep in mind that hexes don't work very well against the Ogre, so don't waste your mana or abilities on them. If you're playing a ranged character, maintain a safe distance and let your more durable companions, the tanks, engage the Ogre directly.

After the Ogre is defeated, you'll find two barrels in the back of the area. One of them always contains a valuable gift. Interact with the beacon to light it, which will trigger a cutscene.

When you awaken at Morrigan's home, you'll have the opportunity to speak with her and ask questions. Before leaving, be sure to open the two chests in the room.

After this, you'll have a dialogue with Flemeth. Morrigan will eventually join your party, and you'll officially begin your journey to unite the nations against the Blight.
