Walkthrough

    After the last barrel cannon, before sliding down the icy slope, look to the left to find a barrel cannon hiding at the bottom of the screen. Jump in to blast to a bonus area. Collect all of the bananas inside for a puzzle piece.

    The climbable wall will also start to fall away, so quickly climb down to the bottom to get a puzzle piece, then up to the next platform.

    Jump off of the harey in this area to reach the climbable ceiling. Climb your way to the top to find a treasure chest. Open it with a ground-pound to claim the puzzle piece inside.

    All of the platforms and climbable walls in the next area will start to fall when you touch them. Look for a wooden section.

    After the next set of falling platforms, there are three hootz in between blue hootz. If you can pick up all of the coins above, a puzzle piece will appear at the end.

Collectibles:

  • Puzzle Piece 1: Found in a bonus area accessed by a hidden barrel cannon before the first icy slope.
  • K: From the first checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death), roll-jump to the hootz on the right, and jump off of it to get the K.
  • Puzzle Piece 2: Located at the bottom of a falling climbable wall inside an ice cave.
  • O: After reaching the other side of the ice wall, jump off the hootz and down into the barrel cannon below to reach it. Dodge flaming fish when blasting out.
  • Puzzle Piece 3: Inside a treasure chest on a climbable ceiling, accessed by jumping off a harey.
  • N: After a barrel cannon shot, approach the platform ahead of time to reach the alcove containing the N before the right side falls.
  • Puzzle Piece 4: Found by taking the route of three hootz on the left instead of staying on the platform at the end of a section.
  • Puzzle Piece 5: Appears at the end if all coins above are collected after a set of falling platforms with three hootz between blue hootz.
Tips
  • Each level on this island is based off of one of the worlds from Donkey Kong Country Returns; this one is based on the Jungle world.
  • The hanging ice platforms will break after being jumped on twice, so be careful not to get too greedy with items above.
  • The barrel cannons near the beginning require timely firing to avoid falling into the abyss.
  • Once you blast into the ice cave, roll into the metal pillar to the right to trigger a cave-in. Quickly make your way right and grab onto the climbable wall.
  • When approaching the platform with the N, the right side will fall, restricting access to the alcove. Jump ahead of time to reach it.
  • You may want to wait for the banana counter (radar (your minimap with nearby blips and threats marked)) to go away, as it tends to get in the way when collecting a puzzle piece in a gap in the wall.
  • If you are hurt, collect all bananas in a pattern from a nearby urn after a spike section to get a heart.
