The Homestead Hall

Learn how to navigate the Homestead Hall in Divinity: Original Sin, activate portals, use the Pyramid teleporter, and interact with key characters like Zixzax and the Weaver of Time.

The Homestead Hall is a large area filled with Portals that will eventually lead to other locations. Most of these portals are initially inactive. You will activate them as you progress through the game, as the magical discharge of Star Stones activates new portals in the Homestead. After searching the Homestead Observatory, use the glowing Portal next to Zixzax to reach the Homestead Hall.

Upon arriving in the Homestead Hall, make your way to the north end. You will find Zixzax speaking with a "Weaver of Time". This Weaver will speak with you and explain that you are special and can interact with Star Stones. After speaking with her and asking questions, talk to Zixzax again. He will give you a new overarching mission to find more Star Stones and solve their mystery. Zixzax will also give you a red "Pyramid", which is a Teleporter Device allowing you to Rift Travel to any Waypoint Portal in the game.

The Last Chest

Near the Weaver, you will find a treasure chest labeled "The Last Chest". It requires you to find its four sisters to open. No quest is logged for this. The Weaver of Time also sells crafting items, such as Pixie Dust, which can be used to create magical items.

Using the Pyramid and Watching Cecilia Taking a Bath

To leave the Homestead, teleport to a Cyseal Waypoint. Right-click the Pyramid Zixzax gave you (while not in the Homestead). This will teleport you to "Cecilia's" bedroom. After she orders you out, you must play a Rock Paper Scissors mini-game with her. Regardless of the outcome, pick up the blue teleporter Pyramid from the floor. You now have two Pyramids: a red one and a blue one. These allow you to teleport to Waypoints and also to each other. Place one Pyramid in a desired location and use the other from your inventory to teleport to it. Use this new Pyramid to return to the Homestead.

Getting to the Homestead a Different Way

An alternative method to find a Star Stone and reach Zixzax and the Homestead involves visiting Evelyn, the Healer's apprentice. Go to Thelyron's Clinic and speak with "Thelyron". He will mention his apprentice, "Evelyn", who has discovered a healing process using a Stone. In the next room, observe Evelyn attempting to heal two sick townspeople with only one healing stone. This begins the quest "The Apprentice and the Stone". You must decide which man receives the stone. Evelyn will explain she obtained the stone from "Loic", a healer in Silverglen who follows the "Immaculates" faith.

After your choice, Evelyn will heal the chosen man, and the healing stone will become an "Inert Stone" on the floor. If you haven't been to the Homestead before, picking up this stone will teleport your party there. If you have already visited the Homestead, you will not be teleported again. This interaction starts and ends the quest "The Apprentice and the Stone".

Visit the Murder Room in the Inn and the New Area in the Homestead

If you have visited the Homestead and Evelyn, return to the King Crab Tavern and search the murder room. Pick up the deactivated "Star Stone", now called the "Inert Stone". If you also have the one from Evelyn, you will now possess two Inert Stones. An onscreen message will indicate changes in the Homestead. Zixzax will inform you that a new Portal has opened. Follow him to the north to find the new active Portal, "To the Hall of Heroes". Entering this portal leads to an area where you can exchange companions, store books, and find a large feast.
