This section details the various enemy types encountered in Destiny: The Taken King, focusing on the Fallen and the Hive.

Fallen Enemies:

• Vandal: Seasoned soldiers, brawlers, assassins, and scouts. They use Shock Rifles or Shock Blades, and may carry Wire Rifles. Their weak point is the head. Sniper Vandals use Wire Rifles, while Blade Vandals engage in melee. Both can be Stealth Vandals. Use grenades to expose them and aim for the head.
• Captain: The strongest and most ferocious Fallen. They wield Shrapnel Launchers, Shock Blades, and Shock Rifles. Their weak point is the head. Captains have Arc Shields that should be countered with Arc Damage. They can teleport and are elusive. Clearing out lesser Fallen is often necessary to focus on them.
• Servitor: Living relics that support Fallen with defensive systems and energy weapons. They emit an aura that heals nearby Fallen. Their weak point is the center of their eye. They are tough but easy to hit for Precision Damage. Rocket Launchers or Super Abilities are effective.
• Walker: Mobile, heavily-armored robotic gun platforms. They have advanced tracking, forward repeaters, a massive main gun, and mine dispensers. They also produce armed repair drones. To defeat them, focus fire on their legs to make them stumble, then attack the exposed components beneath the neck plating. Some external weapons can also be disabled with precise fire.

The Hive:

The Hive are an ancient evil whose antipathy to the Light is a crusade to devour all Light so Darkness can reclaim the universe.

The Factions of the Hive:

• The Hidden Swarm: The Hive's outermost line of defense, originating from the Moon.
• Spawn of Crota: Heralds of a dark future, led by a champion of a forgotten king. They previously banished Guardians from the Moon and may be rising again.
• Blood of Oryx: Mentioned in relation to research into cyphers and runes.
