W1-1: Gates of Boletaria

From the Archstone, backtrack to the closed gate and collect Late Moon Grass x2. Head back toward the gate and up the stairs to collect Crescent Moon Grass x3 and an Unknown Warrior Soul. Be cautious of fires around dreglings, as they can cause combustion.

At the top of the stairs is the boss door, but it cannot be reached yet. To the left, note a grated door and remains on the other side.

Continue around the corner to find a Boletarian soldier with a crossbow, dreglings, and a large hole that results in instant death if fallen into.

Collect Half Moon Grass x2 on the archer's stand. Continue inside, watching for an ambushing dregling to your right.

Proceed through to the other side to reach stairs and a corner with breakable objects. Break everything, especially to find Firebombs x5, which should be saved for the boss.

Head up the stairs, clear out the soldiers, and enter the fog to Area 2.

In the lower area of Area 2, collect the Unknown Warrior Soul and the Mail Breaker before climbing the stairs. Clear out firebombing soldiers and dreglings.

At the top, blocked remains are on the right. Continue past them to a platform outside. Defeat the dregling and soldier, then return inside.

Approach the stairs carefully. When the boulder starts rolling, roll back to avoid it and access the path to your spoils. Collect Half Moon Grass x2 at the dead-end, then drop down to collect the Bastard Sword.

Be aware that the next sets of enemies are tougher. Heal if necessary.

Continue further up to a bridge with a split path. Turn around and go past the stairs you just came up, defeating two soldiers. Stop before the archway and collect Half Moon Grass x4 in the corner.

An extremely strong Red-Eye Knight is through the archway. To defeat him, you can lure him back and attack him while running circles around the catapults, or use magic/arrows. Alternatively, you can lure him to fall down a long chasm or staircase. If you explore this area and survive, a locked door to the Mausoleum and an Unknown Hero Soul await.

Back at the split path, continue in the direction from which you came up the stairs. You will encounter a Blue-Eye Knight and a foggy door on your left.

Ignore the fog for now. Ensure you are healed, then drop off the ledge opposite the foggy door.

Upon landing, check the body for a Light Crossbow and Wooden Bolts x16. Head back inside, defeat the soldier, and drop back down to the wooden staircase.

Return to the foggy door area, but continue past it into the room ahead. Pick up Firebombs x6 from the remains.

Start down the stairs. Let dreglings with fire swords attack barrels to cause explosions. Continue down the winding stairwell, defeating more dreglings.

About a third of the way down, go outside and find two chains connected to the wall. Look over the edge to see bodies hanging from them. Attack the chains to sever them, causing the bodies to drop beside the grated door near the boss door.

Go back inside and finish descending the long staircase. Falling from the top will result in death, but will also kill any Red-Eyed Knights following you.

At the bottom, you will be on the other side of the grated door seen earlier. Pull the lever to open the doors, creating a shortcut back to the entrance and granting access to the Cling Ring, which reduces your soul form HP penalty to 30% (70% of normal HP).

Outside, check the two bodies that fell from the severed chains for Aged Spice x2, Old Ragged Boots, Old Ragged Gloves, and Old Ragged Robes from the first body, and a Jade Hair Ornament from the second. You are now beside the chasm that leads to instant death.

You can return to The Nexus via the Archstone if needed.

When ready, head back up the long staircase and return to the foggy door near the Blue-Eye Knight to proceed to Area 3.

Head down the stairs in Area 3. At the bottom, turn around and slowly approach the soldier and barrels. Roll back as he attacks.
