During your dives, Dave has a limited inventory space. This space is crucial for storing the fish you catch, the materials you gather, and any other items you find. Each item occupies a slot, and some larger or rarer items may take up more space. Exceeding your inventory capacity means you'll have to make difficult choices about what to leave behind, potentially forfeiting valuable catches.

Beyond just the number of slots, there's also a weight limit. While not explicitly shown as a numerical value in the same way as inventory slots, certain items have an inherent "weight" that contributes to your overall carrying capacity. If you attempt to pick up too many heavy items, you will become encumbered, significantly slowing down your movement speed. • Make strategic drops: If you're nearing your weight limit and find a particularly valuable item, consider dropping less essential items to make space.
• use your submersible: Your submersible acts as a temporary storage. You can deposit items in it during a dive and retrieve them later. This is an excellent way to manage your weight and inventory if you plan on a long expedition.
• Sell or process regularly: Don't let your inventory fill up with low-value items. Regularly sell fish at Bancho Sushi or process materials into more valuable components.
• Be aware of item types: Different fish and materials have varying weights. Larger, rarer fish tend to be heavier.
