Pirate Ship Encounter

Your guide to Dave the Diver's 'The Leahs-chan Rescue' mission. Learn how to use the Gas Cutter, defeat the Giant Squid, and retrieve the Pink Delivery Box to end the chapter.

Alright, so after that whole Pink Delivery Box kerfuffle, Duff's gonna hand you the Gas Cutter. Your job now is to use it to slice open the shipwreck. It's a bit of a minigame – you'll need to keep the cutter moving along the seam. Just follow the line, easy peasy.

As you cut, you'll open up a big cavern underneath. Listen closely, you'll hear some serious snoring coming from deeper inside. Swim on through, and you'll find the source: a massive, sleeping red shape, with the Pink Delivery Box right next to it. Duff's gonna be pushing you to grab it, but be careful! The moment you get close, the Giant Squid wakes up and blasts you with ink.

Now the real fight begins! The squid's gonna send tentacles to keep you away while you try to hit its weak spot – the giant eye. You'll need to hit it twice. After that, it'll cover its eye with a tentacle, forcing you to get up close. That's when it'll try to smack you directly, so be ready to dodge.

Once you've taken down the squid, a Sea People girl will crawl out. Another one will show up to help her, but they'll get spooked by you and swim off. You'll need to grab a Giant Squid Tooth from the remains and, of course, Leahs-chan's Pink Delivery Box. Then, it's straight to the surface.

Duff will be overjoyed and reward you with the Deep Sea Headlamp. And that's it! Picking up the box finishes the dive, wraps up the final missions, and ends the chapter. Quick tip: if you need to bail, you can retreat before fighting the squid, but you'll lose most of your O2 and ammo boxes if you do.
