New Londo Ruins

Descend the elevator at Firelink Shrine to reach New Londo.

In the area with many Hollows, head right to the edge and find stairs leading down to a cage containing the NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) Rickert.

Rickert is the final Blacksmith, specializing in ascending weapons down the Magic and Enchanted trees using Embers. His shop sells Soul Arrow for 2000 souls, Heavy Soul Arrow for 4000 souls, and the Sorcerer's Catalyst for 500 souls. Soul Arrow and Heavy Soul Arrow are required for a Trophy.

Proceed left and down the path towards blue lights to find the Crestfallen Warrior, who is now hostile but not overly challenging.

Next to the Crestfallen Warrior, find an urn containing 2x Transient Curse. This item allows you to damage Ghosts.

Cross the bridges and, just before the end, use a Transient Curse.

Encounter a new enemy: Ghosts. These enemies can only be damaged while under the effect of Transient Curse, cursed by a Basilisk, or with a Cursed Weapon. They can pass through walls and have long-range attacks. Two special ghosts have a lightning attack. Drops include Transient Curse, Jagged Ghost Blade, and Ghost Blade (from special ghosts only).

Kill Ghosts in the water area and find more 2x Transient Curse in an urn behind a wall at the edge.

Head up the stairs, killing Ghosts along the way.

In the next room across a bridge, many Ghosts will appear. Be cautious of them ganging up on you.

Go forward and right down spiral stairs to find a Parrying Dagger. A Ghost is hidden in the wall here.

Go back, then left around the square walkway, pass the fog wall, and around the corner to find the first special Ghost. Kill it while it is screaming to avoid damage. Find 2x Transient Curse behind it.

Enter the fog wall you just passed.

Head up the stairs and kick the ladder down to create a shortcut.

At the end of this path, find a Large Soul of a Nameless Soldier. Watch out for Ghosts above or below.

Run to the end and head down the stairs. Waiting on roughly the fifth or sixth step from the top for a few seconds can de-aggro enemies.

Enter the room, then the room on the right, which contains more Ghosts. The second special Ghost is in the next room; kill it quickly.

Head up the ladder in the fireplace to reach Ingward.

Ingward is an NPC who, after acquiring the Lordvessel, gives you the Key to the Seal. To get the key before the Lordvessel, you must kill him. After defeating the boss of New Londo, he moves to Firelink Shrine with a shop selling Resist Curse for 5000 souls and Transient Curse for 1000 souls. Resist Curse is required for a Trophy.

Talk to Ingward to acquire the Key to the Seal, which opens the gates to the lower city. Buy Resist Curse to save time.

Head back down the ladder and through the door at the far end on the left.

Follow the corridor to find a Soul of a Proud Knight.

Return to the start of this room and go down the stairs, ignoring the door on the left, and follow the corridor to the end.

Through the door, find the Cursebite Ring. A Ghost will spawn behind you; kill it.

Go back through the skipped door and at the end of the path, find a Green Titanite Shard.

Go up the stairs to find a Large Soul of a Nameless Soldier.

Continue up the stairs to find Humanity.

Land on the roof below Ingward and locate the Rare Ring of Sacrifice on the edge.

Drop down near where you landed on the roof and continue into the tower.

Go up the tower and follow the path. Enter the door on the right to find a Composite Bow and 16x Large Arrows.

Head down the ladder, use the Key to the Seal to open the door, and pull the lever beyond it.

After the cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically), pull the lever in the previous room to raise a lift. Take it down to find yourself behind the Drakes.

Follow the stairs up in the ruins to find a new enemy: Darkwraiths. These are agile, skeleton-like creatures with a grab attack that drains Humanity. They drop Dark Hand, Titanite Chunk, and Titanite Slab.

Enter the wooden structure, grab the Large Soul of a Proud Knight, and kill the Darkwraith guarding it.

Enter the fog wall. Kill the Darkwraith to the left, then run up the middle to find a Mass of Souls.
