Master Blighttown in Dark Souls Remastered with this comprehensive walkthrough. Learn enemy tactics, item locations, and essential tips for survival in this treacherous area.

This area will be quite long and dangerous to navigate. There is a massive poison pool at the bottom, tons of enemies trying to kill us and we need to navigate to the bottom on narrow and dilapidated wooden walkways. Before proceeding, make sure your Purple and Blooming Purple Moss supply are plentiful. You also want the Ring of Fog as it is vital for navigating this area to avoid being targeted by certain enemies. The Rusted Iron Ring will be needed for the swamp as well. When you are ready, open the large door next to Domhnall in The Depths.

Make your way down the ladders until you reach the wooden walkways. A new enemy awaits.

--Infested Barbarian--

These clumsy brutes pack a punch but aren't too difficult to overcome. You will mostly encounter the Club wielding Barbarians who build up Poison rather quickly. They sometimes stand still and roar at you, giving you an opportunity to do some real damage. In the swamps, there are larger Boulder throwing Barbarians. These guys are tougher but backstabs are easy to perform on them. In the upper levels, you can make these guys fall to their death quite easily to avoid confronting them on narrow walkways.

Drops: Dung Pie, Large Club , Pickaxe

*Only drops from the enemies wielding the weapon, the latter from the Boulder Barbarians.

Defeat the Barbarian here. Another two Barbarians are up ahead so deal with them as well. Further ahead is another new enemy.

--Infested Ghoul--

Ghouls are smaller, humanoid enemies and are really common on the upper levels of Blighttown. These Ghouls can come with different weapons including a sword, spear or a carcass used as a hammer or club. They aren't overly difficult to defeat but larger groups can be difficult to deal with and they can also grab you. Blocking is extremely effective against them as they are easily stunned by the iron wall of a shield. Use a similar strategy to kill these guys as you used against Hollows and they shouldn't be too difficult for you.

Drops: Soul of a Lost Undead, Humanity, Soul of a Nameless Soldier, Broken Straight Sword

After defeating the Ghouls, keep heading through but when you reach the part before it goes down, turn right immediately and kill the new enemy hiding here.

--Blowdart Sniper--

These enemies are extremely annoying and without the Ring of Fog, can make your life here miserable and short-lived. They are difficult to spot as they are a very dark colour matching the dark rooms of the upper walkways. However, they are extremely weak. The biggest threat that these guys pose is the ability to Toxic you and is the main reason why Blooming Purple Moss Clumps are a necessity to bring. They do not respawn when killed but should be your top priority to kill first.

Drops: Purple Moss Clump , Blooming Purple Moss Clump

*Guaranteed drop

Kill the Sniper around the corner and grab the Purple Moss Clump. Instead of taking the ladder down, drop attack the Ghoul down here. Kill any other Ghouls along this lower walkway. At the very end is a Soul of a Proud Knight. Return to where the Sniper was and head further in.

Avoid the right bridge as it is loose and can be difficult to cross. Instead, head left and at the three-way intersection, take the right bridge to be on the other side of where the loose bridge would go and kill the Ghouls over here. Climb down the ladder here to a slightly lower level, killing the Ghoul in the process.

Do not drop down to grab the item as the floor will collapse from underneath you and you will fall further down. Instead, circle the area and go around to grab the Large Soul of a Nameless Soldier. Shimmy across the beam behind you to find a few more Ghouls, one of which is hiding in a pot. Take the ladder down to the left of the beam and locate the Bonfire on the walkway.

Now with a safety spot, we can now safely locate all the items above us before the bonfire. Climb back up the ladder, killing all the enemies you encounter along the way. Don't cross the beam but instead run to the opposite end of the ladder and land on the lower level. Grab the Soul of a Proud Knight on the edge. Turn around and take the ladder up to get the Shadow Set. Drop down to the left, then turn around to grab another Soul of a Proud Knight.

Now drop down to the lower level again. You should see a walkway on the right similar to the walkway where the bonfire is. Run to the left and up the ladder to where the Ghoul in the pot is and across the beam. Return to the three-way intersection. You will see an item on the lower left side that you need to jump to. This jump can be a bit tricky but time your jump well and you will get the Iaito.

Past the bonfire and instead of going up the ladder, look down a hole before it and drop down. If you are on the right platform, then to the left is a ramp going down and a new enemy.

--Flaming Attack Dog--

Almost identical to the Undead Dogs we have fought before. These dogs are smaller and more nimble making them a difficult target for larger weapons. The only other exception is they spew a flame breath forward so watch out for that. Otherwise, they are just reskin Undead Dogs.

Drops: N/A

Kill the two Attack Dogs then turn around, break the pots here and shimmy along the ledge to find a Humanity. Go back up to where we dropped down and cross the long loose bridge that will move when you cross. Just run normally and don't panic or you may just walk off. Keep running across and kill the Ghouls at the end. On the beam sticking over the edge is some highly valuable Blooming Purple Moss Clump x3. Climb up the ladder and make your way back to rest at the bonfire.

From the bonfire, run across the walkway, and keep going until you reach the opposite walkway. Kill the Ghouls and any Flaming Dogs here. Follow the walkway along and you should see a huge Parasite on the wall. Head down the ramp and grab a Soul of a Proud Knight tuc
