As you progress in Clash Royale, you'll move through different Arena types, starting with Goblin Stadium (Arena 1) and advancing to higher arenas by gaining trophies. Each new Arena unlocks new cards through chests or the in-game store. Higher arenas feature more skilled players and offer better tier chests, providing more gold, cards, and upgrade points than lower-tier chests of the same type, though opening times remain consistent.

If your trophy count drops 50 below the requirement for your current Arena, you will be demoted to the previous Arena. However, you retain access to cards unlocked in higher arenas and can use them even when demoted.

Arena Types

Training Arena

This is where you'll fight seven tutorial AI opponents. You can unlock a variety of cards here. Completing the training levels unlocks online mode and the Goblin Stadium (Arena 1). You can revisit training for practice or to test decks without earning rewards, trophies, or crowns.

Training Mode

Training mode allows you to repeatedly fight AI trainers to test new Battle Decks or for casual play. No rewards are given for using this mode.

Cards unlockable in Training Mode:

  • Troops: Bomber, Archers, Knight, Mini P.E.K.K.A, Musketeer, Giant, Prince, Baby Dragon, Skeleton Army, Witch
  • Spells: Arrows, Fireball

Note: Cards unlocked in previous arenas remain unlockable even after progressing to higher arenas.

Goblin Stadium (Arena 1)

The first online arena where you face real opponents. It introduces the first building card and includes the following cards:

  • Troops: Spear Goblins, Goblins, Valkyrie
  • Buildings: Goblin Hut
  • Spells: Lightning, Goblin Barrel

  • Buildings: Tombstone, Bomb Tower
  • Spells: None new

Barbarian Bowl Arena (Arena 3)

Requires 800+ trophies. Introduces a common defensive ground tower, an Epic defensive ground tower, and an epic non-physical spell.

  • Troops: Barbarians
  • Buildings: Cannon, Barbarian Hut, X-Bow
  • Spells: Rocket, Rage

Arena 3 presents a significant difficulty increase with more skilled players and well-constructed Battle Decks. Expect to spend more time here, learning strategies and improving your deck. Each subsequent arena acts like a higher-level class, requiring adaptation and learning.
