Clash Royale update history including new Touchdown mode, Mirror Mode, Quests feature, and balance changes from October 9th, 2017.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
On October 9th, 2017, Clash Royale received Content Update #10, Balance Changes #23, and Tweaks #17.
  2. 2
A new game mode called Touchdown was added, where the objective is to score by getting your troops across the opponent's line. Winning requires three touchdowns or having the most when time runs out. It can be played in a 2v2 Draft format within Challenges. Hog Riders cannot be used, and Goblin Barrels and Miners can only be deployed in the middle of the field.
  3. 3
Mirror Mode, a 2v2 Challenge, was introduced where players and their teammates have decks that mirror the enemy decks, ensuring 100% balance.
  4. 4
A new Daily Quests system was added, replacing the free chests received every 4 hours. Completing quests earns rewards like gold, cards, gems, and Quest Points, which contribute to bigger prizes such as Super Magical Chests and Legendary Chests. Daily Login Rewards are also included. A bigger prize like a Gold Chest requires 50 Quest Points, with higher tiers needing more. One quest can be replaced daily. Achievements are also being removed in a future update due to this system.
  5. 5
Two new mini-events, Gold Rush and Gem Rush, were added as Resource Rush 1v1 events. These events occur in 1v1 ladder games for a few days, granting Gold or Gems upon destroying Crown Towers, with a maximum of 5,000 Gold per Gold Rush event.
  6. 6
New Casual and Multi-Stage Challenges were introduced. Casual challenges allow unlimited retries regardless of losses, requiring player level 5 or higher to enter. Multi-Stage Challenges have several sequential stages to complete.
  7. 7
The shop was significantly revamped, with cards now purchasable in stacks. Costs were adjusted for each rarity, with some costing gems instead of gold, except for Legendaries which have a cost limit of one per day. Special offers now appear in the card section. Free items like gold, gems, and chests can appear, and one free Epic card is given every Sunday.
  8. 8
Chat and rematch options with teammates are available after 2v2 games, using randomized pre-defined emotes.
