Part 2

Luigi's grounded attacks aim to get opponents airborne. His smashes achieve this, with his quick and wide-ranged down smash being a primary option. His up tilt is also a quick option to pop opponents up. His forward tilt sends opponents horizontally, and his down tilt is a weak close-range move that can trip opponents or pop them up at high percentages. Avoid his running attack as it is weak and does not lead into better options.

In the air, Luigi's forward aerial is a quick, powerful chop useful for kills and racking damage. His up, back, and down aerials are fast and strong, allowing for aerial attacks regardless of orientation. His neutral aerial sends opponents straight up with significant power, enabling surprise KOs.

Luigi's back throw is powerful for kills, similar to Mario's. If a kill isn't possible, use his up throw to launch opponents into the air. Occasionally use his Super Jump Punch out of shield for a chance at a Fire Jump Punch, but only when the opponent is vulnerable.

Luigi's Fireball is a weak projectile with poor reach that doesn't complement his game. Use it only if an opponent stays just out of arm's reach.

The Green Missile is primarily for recovery, offering good horizontal distance and allowing aerial moves afterward. It does poor damage unless charged, and even then, it's predictable. A misfire (1/8 chance) deals good damage, but Luigi is too skilled to rely on this.

Luigi's Super Jump Punch is mediocre for recovery but deals massive damage as a Fire Jump Punch when used up close. This is a key kill move. Interrupting a jab combo with Super Jump Punch makes it hard to avoid and offers an easy chance for a Fire Jump Punch.

Luigi Cyclone is useful on the ground for covering distance quickly, enabling surprise attacks and approaches. If Luigi hasn't touched the ground since the last use, rapid B presses allow him to rise, ensuring he can recover to the ledge.

Luigi cannot wall jump or wall cling.
