New to BONELAB? This guide breaks down the BONELAB Hub, from unlocking modules to piloting the BOSSCLAW. Get started with essential tips and strategies for a smooth entry into the game.

Alright, so you've just landed in the BONELAB Hub, also known as the Special Projects Area. Think of this as your main base of operations, the place where you'll access all the different game modes and really start diving into the campaign. It's pretty central to everything, so getting the hang of it early will make your whole experience smoother. You'll find six modules here that act as gateways to various themed maps, plus a Bodymall where you can swap out your avatar. Let's get you oriented!

You'll start off in the Conceptual Isolation Chamber. You can either force your way out of the doors or find a hatch in the roof. Once you're out, the track 'Would You Even Know' will kick in, and you'll see a bulletin board. This board is your initial guide, pointing you towards three modules you need to explore first.

Unlocking the Left Side:

After you've explored those first three modules, keep an eye out for boxes containing energy cores appearing above them. These will create pillars of light, showing you where to go next. Your next objective is the control room. Inside, you'll get to pilot a BOSSCLAW. You've got a lever to extend and retract it, plus controls to move it forward and side-to-side along its tracks. There's also a button to toggle its magnetic gravity field. Your mission here is to use the minimap to guide the BOSSCLAW to the energy cores you've unlocked. Once a core is attached, you need to bring it to one of the six tubes flanking the control room. They'll snap into place when you get close enough. You'll need to get three cores into these tubes to unlock the massive quarantine airlock to the right of the control room.

Unlocking the Right Side:

Once you're sent back to the Hub after progressing further in the game, you'll need to tackle the remaining modules and collect their cores, just like before. After all six cores are slotted into their pipes, the BONEWORKS door on the right side of the control area will open up for you.

Hidden Room:

If you're feeling adventurous, head into the metal vents beneath the lab. You'll find a maze of corridors leading to two walls that look like they have hand-drawn doors. If you've found one of the keycards (they're hidden in the Stress Level Zero offices), you can use it on one of these walls to enter a secret room. This room is connected to the Lab but is physically located beneath District 05 of MythOS City. The purpose of the second hand-drawn door is still a bit of a mystery.

Beings you'll encounter:

  • Crablet: Small, often found in groups. Best dealt with using a quick melee or a ranged weapon.
  • BOSSCLAW: A large, mechanical entity you'll pilot. Its controls are key to progressing in the Hub.
