Navigate Jawson Bog and other areas in Bastion, including Prosper Bluff and The Hanging Gardens. Learn how to defeat enemies and upgrade buildings.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
In Jawson Bog, move across wooden walkways until you reach a tilted tree trunk. Descend to the lower level and walk along the stone path to find the first Shard. After nearing the Shard, the Kid passes out.
  2. 2
You awaken in Prosper Bluff, where Zia was met. The area is filled with Stinkeyes (floating, spiny eyeballs). Attack them when their eye is open; turn around to make them float after you, then quickly do a 180 and attack.
  3. 3
After defeating the Stinkeyes, talk to the Siren to be transported.
  4. 4
In The Hanging Gardens, smash the statues and defeat the three Gasfellas. Proceed forward to fight more Gasfellas, then some Squirts. Speak with the Zulf mirage.
  5. 5
In The Bastion's main plaza, survive an attack by Wallflowers, Lunkheads, Vineapples, and Swampweeds. Approach the north end of town and step into the teleporter.
  6. 6
You are now in The Sole Regret. A giant cornbin drops from the ceiling, dispensing large Squirts, and Security surrounds the bar. Ascend the stairs and destroy the statue.
  7. 7
In The Rippling Walls, follow the bridge until you see Plush Pyths. Slash the one in your way and proceed to encounter a Kid Doppelganger who uses the Cael Hammer and has similar patterns but is easier to defeat. The screen then turns white.
  8. 8
In Ordinary Campsite, take Ore from the mine carts and pack it into the wagon. Take wood from the northern end and place it in the campfire. Rest at your bed.
  9. 9
You wake up in Jawson Bog next to the Shard. Take it and follow the path west. Avoid the Bootlicker (a large cactus monster) by using a ranged weapon if trapped in its cage of thorns. Search narrow walkways for Black Tonics and Health Tonics, then head north.
  10. 10
A stationary Lungblossom (a gigantic flower monster) attacks with fireballs and is accompanied by Bootlickers or Pincushions. Target it from a distance or wait between attacks to hack it. Once the Lungblossom and its minions fall, enter the Skyway.
  11. 11
In The Bastion, put the Shard into the Monument. Shards allow you to upgrade buildings:
    • Distillery Upgrade: New Spirits become available.
  12. 12
Arsenal Upgrade: The Trapper Snare Secret Skill becomes available.
  13. 13
Forge Upgrade: Two additional upgrades for each weapon become available.
  14. 14
Shrine Upgrade: New Idols become available.
  15. 15
Memorial Upgrade: New Vigils become available.
  16. 16
Lost-and-Found Upgrade: New Spirits and Secret Skills are in stock.
Tips
  • The fog in Jawson Bog can make navigation difficult.
  • Stinkeyes are tougher when their eye is closed; lure them to open their eyes before attacking.
  • The Kid Doppelganger in The Rippling Walls is a weaker version of yourself.
  • Use ranged weapons against the Bootlicker in Jawson Bog if it traps you.
